Subject: Maravich String Quartet

so i did make it out to the show on friday. and it was pretty swell. john and josh opened, and played some music that sounded a little like a cross between john's solo album and the band Clinic.

then the maravich string quartet came on. unfortunately i dont know the names of any of them, except bob. but there was a cello player, an organ player(more like a korg), and a second acoustic guitarist/backup vox(bob being the first) and a bassist. they played like 6 songs, all of which were pretty good. bob semed to be at pretty happy, and he gave the crowd some of his personal stuff like his books and videos and cds. he played some sad songs, one about the people that are dying in fighting for the U.S, and how it just seems like a number in the paper(17 died today). and another about a woman who killed herself and her kids. there was also a song about teenage millonaires. then they ended with a cover of a randy newman song. it sounded really good, especially with the cello, it gave bob's lyrics somewhat of a haunting vibe.

alright someone who knows what's up, should correct whatever mistakes i made here, and post about the other band members(they were all really good) and official song titles. are they working or have they already worked on putting out an independent EP. i was gonna ask bob, but i did'nt want to bug him. hopefully they will play more shows in the future.
