She could sense it…fear. It entered her empathic mind before her own natural instincts could react. Jade optics scanned the hallways rapidly, detecting the movement instantly. Skye gazed coldly at the femme, reading her status easily since the other was wearing clothes of a noble. There was no emotion on the thief’s face- just a hidden intent and a reason to do what she was doing. She did not fear the other, instead choosing to use the noble’s fear to her advantage.

Skye shot off after her, although she made sure the fleeing woman was not leading her into a trap. “Running…was not a good choice…” Skye told the noble in her mind, not wishing to speak aloud and give away her own position. The young thief was enjoying her newly learned magical abilities and found that they had great advantages against the enemy…

Skye kept the woman in eyesight, not planning to get close, though she had another idea in mind. She waited for the perfect moment before disengaging a throwing knife towards the back of the noble’s knee. The femme could possibly dodge it although it would be difficult, but she would still have to stop running to do so; either way, she would have to halt her frantic flight. Skye waited with unfaltering patience to see if her knife struck her target…
