Subject: My History In Guilds

Greetings everyone,

I am not sure exactly how many individuals TRULY know what my career in guilds have been like. So I decided I would share my tale with you all, the tale of about 5 years (almost six now) of time with guilds.

It all began when I was the age of 14 in 1996. I had just received my Diablo game CD and I popped it in. In a short time, I was hooked on the quest to destroy Diablo. I loved this so much that I made many friends on Battlenet. One went by the name of ~333~ I believe, and he said to me

"Have you ever been in a guild?"

My answer was...no. What the heck are those?

He explained to me that clans and guilds of players were forming online and he wanted me to join his. So, in a period of about 8 months the Silver Dragons of the Horadrim (SDoH) was made and swelled up to about 90 members I think.

My freshman year of highschool was a busy one, so after the first year anniversary I believe (you will find my memory is etchy, since I am such an old timer). I retired for a while from the SDoH. And I then came back late '97 in time for its collapse because players were going to form one in Ultima Online.

So myself and another friend of mine, Divaqs decided to ourselves hey, let's make a guild from the survivors. Those the Paladins of Light were born. Again I showed great dedication the cause and I was given Paladin Lord status. I remained most of my freshman and sophomore year. But after a while, I grew tired of the game and left for a time again. I was known as Ender~PoL~ at that time.

Divaqs did very well in this time and I think the ideas of an Alliance were becoming a reality. I returned as MagusQ and a short while after a young guild that had suffered through a revolt applied just as the Alliance was having their own problems. Thus the ULGD and CALGD were formed and the Empire wasn't really allowed in for a time.

As a newly appointed Alliance Representative, I had the distinct honor of meeting several of the Empire's oldest and dearest members. One of which was named Onaeus. He was a very eloquent man, and at that time I was very impressed with his guild and him. So much, that I wanted to join what he hoped would be a multiguild organization of story writers and protectors of virtue known as the Druids of Kala.

I gladly joined and reigned in various PoL positions from Captain, to Guard, to Alliance Rep, to Council Rep for a good year more. But most of all, I was Magus Quelan, the first Archdruid of Tyrengard.

Yet time rolls on and troubled waters occurred. Divaqs had resigned as Paladin Master a while back, and the PoL's leaders were cosntantly shifting. During this time, I was greatly annoyed with the way the Paladin Lord was chosen, and so I left to create my own home of Aerogea. My clan was known as the Descendants of Aerogea. They were allowed into the alliance after four months, and would probably would have been as great as the Empire or PoL had not my life gone bad in that time. I was busy, D2 wasn't coming out and when it did I couldn't play and my co-leaders were too busy to keep it rolling. So we disbanded the guild and I returned to the PoL ashamed, no longer Typhon Nimbus, but Ashe Telleraine, the one who speaks with the Dead. I retired from the Druids for a while over some problems I had there and rededicated myself to my old home. But during this time I also reunited the halves of CALGD and ULGD and helped add some more guilds to the Alliance.

However, the urge to tell my tales went on and so I returned to the Druids. I began to realize the PoL didn't embrace my stories as I wanted them to. (or this is the assumption I made) and so once and for all after another month or two of dedicated service in 2000, I retired and joined up with the Empire mid 2001.

This time I created Breckt Al Anz, the man who suffers from amnesia. This was to signify that I would rather forget my past. This continued and recently I was aloof due to the fighting going on between some members of DE. I simply wanted peace. Then they said peace had come, and I figured I didn't do anything to help and that my place was away from all guilds.

Then, there was the Exodus....and now I am Duke.

Strange how life works out eh?

So...what do I know about guilds? Well, I have forged a lot of strong friendships in these groups of gamers. I am glad they have inspired my creativity, and have been there when I have felt down on so many occasions.

I can never be quite sure of how much I have impacted everyone else in these organizations, I just hope in these strange times since the Exodus, I can help the Empire retain it's former glory. I don't know if I will ever leave, but I do know that I am always going to remember the Empire, the Paladins, and my friends.

I cannot say what is next in the chapter of The Storyteller;
the Captain,
the Guard,
The Paladin Lord,
Alliance Rep,
Archdruid of PoL
Eye of Kala
Knight of Dragonspire
Baron of Dragonspire Keep,
Acolyte,
Druid,
Captain of Recruiting(SDoH)
Dragon Lord,
Duke of Dragonspire,
and Druid....

But maybe one day, I will finally take my leave. Or I will discover just how much I caused the River of Time to ripple. Or how my old and new friends alike are doing. I suppose we'll all see in time won't we.

For now, as a man of guild experience, I can tell you that the Alliance, the PoL, and my Empire shall have many more years yet before they are ever forced to fade. Carry on my friends, your valor and kindness are testaments to the beauty that humanity can have within.

That's all I can say, if only I could sound just a tad more wise.

Thanks for everything my dear friends and may your ways and future be bright!

Your friend the Story Teller,
Breckt, Ashe, Typhon, Magus, Ender, Evil_Homer(SDoh)
