Subject: Greetings Gideon. Perhaps I can help some....
In reply to: Gideon 's message, "Re: Alliance" on 00:20:11 04/09/01 Mon

I have the honor of serving as POL's diplomat, so depending on what you are asking depends on whether I am the person to speak with directly. So, I will try to give you some info that you can use to see if we can help.

1.) Alliances: POL is part of an alliance called the ULGD (United Legit Guilds of Diablo) which consists of 10 guilds aligned together in pursuit of legit gaming. If you are planning to run your own guild, which I assume is your intention from your "confederacy" reference, you would have to apply there for a formal alliance to exist. We normally require a guild to have been establised for a few months and to reflect completely our ideals before we accept a new guild into the Alliance. You can get more details on that at the ULGD web site. An informal alliance might be also possible, but that would be a totally different matter.

2.) Guild membership: If what you desire is instead for you and your friends to join POL as members, then the process is different. We have never in the past accepted a free e-mail account for a member application, although after you have been accepted, it can be changed. That process occurs at the www.pofl.org site, with the join pofl link. I do not think it will allow you to submit the app with a free e-mail account however. If in reality you can not obtain a permanant e-mail address, you would have to discuss that matter with our Guild Security Officer, Warmonger. I do not know that there is much flexibility in that policy however, as our security system is very strict, in order to provide for a safer haven for our members.

I hope this helps clarify somewhat the processes you would need to investigate. We are always looking for new honorable members to join our ranks, so we would be delighted to have you apply if that is indeed your goal. If you are looking for an alliance, then I would be glad to discuss that with you as well. I can be reached via icq at 73967536 if you have that tool, or via the e-mail address listed above.

Best wishes and good luck as you return to bnet.
