Subject: Exam coming...

I recently moved and will be going for a gyn exam next week. Yesterday mom took me to the office to meet the doctor, a female. She pretty much explained what I needed to know. She never made mention of taking my temperature, which I found odd. Now this may sound small or trivial to some, but while I was in the examining room , just to meet the doctor, I happened to notice a lone glass holder with a glass thermometer in it, and the word RECTAL spread across the holder. I can tolerate many things, but I just hate the thought that I'm possibly going to have to get a thermometer used on me like I was a two year old. I'm 17. In short, I hate getting my butt temperature taken, and believe me, I'm no stranger to that instrument being pushed up my bottom.A few hospital stays. So, how if the nurse or doctor goes for the thermometer to do my temperature, do I get around that?
