Publish collusion report, says Adams

SINN F�IN leader Gerry Adams yesterday demanded the immediate publication of the new report into collusion between British forces and loyalist killer gangs.

Describing as a �long-fingering� exercise by Britain the decision to appoint retired Canadian judge Peter Cory to investigate six controversial killings in the North, he nonetheless said the judge�s findings should now be put on record.
�We did not need a Judge Cory. What we needed and still need is a full, sworn, judicial inquiry,� said Mr Adams. �However, Judge Cory�s reports should now be published without any further delay,� he said.

Judge Cory handed over two reports to Dublin and London on Tuesday, saying that he would �make a lot of noise� if his recommendations in the murder cases were not acted upon.
He indicated he would hold the Irish and British governments to their commitments to hold public inquiries in cases where he believes they are warranted.
The murders include the killing by loyalists of solicitors Pat Finucane and Rosemary Nelson, the slaying of a British judge and two senior RUC officers by the IRA, and the murder of LVF leader Billy Wright.
Mr Adams, speaking in Cork where he met local election candidates and signed copies of his new book, Hope and History: Making Peace in Ireland, said collusion between British government agencies and loyalist murder gangs was far more widespread than most people might think.
�People should have no doubts of the enormity of the collusion.
�British government agencies armed loyalist gangs to carry out numerous murders. �Hundreds of people were killed,� he said.
In July, a ruling by the European Court of Human Rights strengthened the calls for a full judicial inquiry into the murder of Pat Finucane.
