Londa,Ned has his own ax to grind and spin:)Never mind that the owners had another Property in Austerlitz that they envision to be more lucrative then in Hudson where cooks are hard to come by,etc. It was their desition to make the move.I don't believe any one twisted their arms like others who too have been churning their Properties when they see a profit to be made and who can blame them..It's their capital and talents they have invested in our area with gold dust at everyones feet as promoted by their well organized contacts.
Of course we don't know anything and must rely upon their expertise to follow their paths of enlightment.:):)
I think I'll post this on hos Board to be DELETED or expounded upon with "O" taking the Place of "I":):)

Tom -

This may be your dream, but the truth is what I've written.

I've talked to Sal, and I know that the tax situation was crucial in his decision to abandon his sucessful and very much appreciated business. He was forced out by the Scaleranetti Administration's regressive, anti-small-business tax policies.

You may not want to know that. You may want to invent your own explanation. You may want to live in a fantasy world. But those are the facts, and you can go visit Sal and ask him yourself. But of course, facts have never interested you very much, have they?

Facts..I believe I have posted that those who aspire to lead do so by setting the example like taking a cut in pay instead of using Tax Payers Money to tell us of the events made possible with other peoples money.
Perhaps you have forgoten that inflation, etc.has caught up up with the spreading Buracracies whose dependance on Government hand outs by way of grants for every conceivable list of advocates seeking to get their share by influencing POLITICIANS to get their votes with their self interests with red ink budgets and limited funds for basic problem solving solutions for waste disposal, water development projects, etc.with blame game devisive tactic and law suits to delay alternative basic comprehensive prioritized needs for all those who depend on comprehensive planning to meet present and future needs, instead of wasting our time with what color our neighbors house should b or the height of our fences to hyde our neighbors from our sight, etc.
These same neighbors who serve our communities as law enforcement Public servants,Volunteer Fire and Ambulace Squads that tax payers money is used to provide them with diversified structures to meet their needs but may present a visual impact on their right to have no obstruction to their visual panoramic view of the Hudson Valley in its Natural Setting to please the Olana Government subsidy FRIENDS who feel negatively affected by the creation of Industries that seek to meet the needs of the building trades etc.with their devisive rhetoric.
As a supporter of the FoH Nimby advocasy those Fifty HITS on your Board to get a chucle our of your Intelectual progressive view points find it expedient not to engage in your ritualistic propoganda with no substantive alternatives to pay for all those wishful handouts that Sal will find our applicable in Austerlitz and Hudson.
Have a good time disecting or deleting mo post that will also be forwarded to others:):)

Tom -

You are right, we have discussed cutting the bloated salaries at Taxpayer expense awarded to the Scaleranetti Cronies by this administration. We agree about that, and I never deleted any of the posts made about it. So why are you bringing it up in this context?

While we also agree that government spending is out of control - I actually indentify specific areas where I see problems, and try to propose ideas for rectifying them - while you spout off about "spreading bureaucracies," "advocates" and "self-interests" in a generalized way that makes it imposible for anyone to understand what you are actually talking about, other than the simple statement that there is too much government spending and waste - which you could say in 9 clear words.

The rest of your post is also full of incomprehensible bombast that offers no clear analysis of what you see as the problem, nor how to fix it. It's exactly the kind of incoherent ranting that has caused other venues to disregard your communications. I'm leaving it here beacuse at least it's not directly insulting and it will show people what kind of "thought process" you present.

But as far as the content is concerned, its the same-old same-old - lots of ranting against the "Olana Government subsidy FRIENDS" and other imaginary villains, and no constructive commentary or proposals. That kind of endless, pointless, generalized negativity gets neither you nor anyone else anywhere, Tom, other than deeper in that rut you are carving as you go round and round and round...

Tom did you see in the public notices, in Livingston, you have to go before the zoning board and have a hearing to keep a couple of midget donkeys on your property. Pay taxes on your property, but do what we want you to with it. Just more out of control policies by our Nimby bretherns. Socialism at its best, less freedom is good for you.

Went to the land use meeting in Hillsdale, more smoke and mirrors by the saviors of our planet. There is just so much money to provide the services that our society demands. Yet they want to shift the burden to those of use who are least able to make use of their newly devined system for open space. The "expert" speakers must of went to the Depew school for public bloviating as they often spoke in circles and could not be pin downed. As the Redman says Whiteman speak with forked tongue. Which can now be applied to the saviors of our Planet.

Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.

Gene -

You might be comfortable with a pile of donkeys**t next to your patio or the aroma of it wafting in the windows on the breeze from your neighbor's yard, but not everyone is.

Would it be OK with you if your next-door neighbor opened an all-night Disco and blared loud music and invited kids to hang around outside till dawn? Would it be "Socialist" to have community standards in place (they already are!) that prevent that from happening? What if someone wanted to put a dump next to your house. After all, it's their property, right?

What a silly argument!

We have already decided, as local communities and as a nation, to work together to solve our problems, under the law. We've chosen to set all kinds of limits on our own and other's behavior, in order to protect our mututal rights to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." And by-and-large it's worked pretty well.

You are good at making generalized complaints and accusing others of "speaking with forked tongue," but when it comes to positive ideas and suggestions - let alone positive actions - you just aren't around.

The truth is, we don't need any more whiners. We already have plenty. What we need is people who'll stand up for what they believe is best for all of us and work to make it happen.
