"Gene" -

Who do you suppose are the "Saviors of the Hudson Valley?" I don't know anyone who considers themself that. As far as I can figure you out, they are just more of your (and Tom's) "invisible Martians" - the "enemy that's trying to control your brains," that no one can see but you...

Locating major oil refineries in areas well known to be subject to mammoth storms seems a bit short-sighted doesn't it? But I'm sure the "Saviors of the Hudson Valley" are to blame for that, aren't they? Are they also to blame for the storm?

Locating major oil refineries in the upper Hudson Valley - which the mega-tankers that supply the refineries couldn't navigate - is another super idea from you! Let's do it! We could maybe - with a lot of dredging - get the ships up as far as Peekskill - but of course, they'd then have to back all the way down, since they're too long to turn in the channel above the Tappan Zee!

You sure know what you're talking about...

Why don't we locate the refineries on farmland in New Lebanon? We could bring the oil up by barge to Castleton, and then form a giant bucket-brigade to move it overland. That way the project would provide many more jobs.

I know that in your universe it's a crime to know anything - so anyone who bothers to ask questions and find out the facts before making up his or her mind is considered a "know-it-all" - compared to most of you, who proudly "know-nothing" - but here in the real world we like to have some idea what we're getting into before we make a decision.

Would you like to live - or condemn the rest of us to live - in the middle of the Dutchess County Fair? The Fair makes the town a madhouse for what has now grown to almost a week - and there is almost no agriculture left in Dutchess County - this has become just a crass, commercial "Mall of America" event.

If you just want tourists, Gene - repoen the Bawdy Houses and the Gambling Dens - heck - Las Vegas gets more more tourists in a month than the Dutchess County Fair gets in ten years. Let's turn Columbia County into Las Vegas!!! Now THAT"S a Tourist Attraction!

That's another great idea you've had Gene - two in one day! You'd better go lie down and rest.

Gene -

the Greenway (not to mention the new County Office Building) wasn't my idea (nor the idea of anyone I know) - its just another Scaleranetti boondoggle.

I knew you'd go for the New Lebanon oil refineries. I knew that would make perfect sense to you. And the development of prostitution into a leading local industry - I somehow knew you'd like that one too.

We could have animatronic figures of you and Tom standing around the "Olympic Torch" monument, greetin visitors as they arrive down Columbia street and repeating some of your most memorable homilies - Things like "SLC is a done deal" and "It's all the fault of the FoH Gods of Olana Saviors of the Hudson Valley Vissioneries."

Have you ever heard of pipeline??? It's a fantastic way to move materials. We could move alot of oil to New Lebanon that way.

Great idea you have in mentioning the brawdy houses, they will bring in the tourists. We could open them for men, women, and those in between.

See, with us collaborating we can have a diverse economically benefitting super culture, making the area a true powerhouse of economic reform. I knew we would someday come to an understanding it just took awhile.

How many parcels are we taking off the tax rolls by making a greenie way between Warren and State St? Never mind you don't have to answer. I know it's a tough question.
