Gene -

you know as well as I do that not only have such laws been declared unconstitutional in jurisdiction after jurisdiction in the US, but also that they have been routinely ignored in Hudson and Columbia County, when it suited certain people to ignore them.

Now suddenly we must adhere to the letter of the (unconstitutional) law? This is the same administration that thought nothing of appointing Dan Grandinetti, acknowledging that it was in clear violation of the Charter - but all of a sudden, the letter of the law really matters to them?

Such blatant manipulation of the political process and such perverse misuse of the police - Cappy is a Republicrat operative, but also Police Commissioner - is typical of the exact kind of corrupt and self-serving political machinations that kept Hudson in the doldrums from the early 1970s through most of the 1990s.

They ignore the laws when it suits their purpose, than seek to "enforce" them when they think they can score points off their political opponents and distract the voters from the real issues - the total lack of economic progress, the failure of the Empire Zone incentives, the misuse of funds, the lack of progress on affordable housing, the back-room deals and crony give-aways - that are such an embarrassment to the Scalera-Grandinetti faction.

Of course, you - who have nothing but contempt for mere facts - support these dishonest, underhanded, selfish and self-serving operatives.

Where is Rick Scalera? He publicly offered to have a discussion with me about the issues I raised here - but when I asked him to name a time and place - he went suddenly silent. Why was that? Like you, he wants to make a big show but when push comes to shove, he wants doesn't want his actions explored in public in the light of day - because like you he doesn't want to deal with the facts - only with the spin that he puts on them to fool the gullible and encourage the corrupt.
