A TRIBUTE to Mr.WALLACE and those who voted to turn down the HCSD Board's budget was amply demonstrated by the turn out of children and parents Saturday,July 16th to raise money to fund their self interest programs.
Those participating learned what it's like for the various service organizations that serve community needs experience in their diverse rolls by VOLUNTEERING their time, talents and money to meet community needs that their peers in EDUCATION have taken for granted with their red ink taxing budgets.
The blame game by the Board Members and their supporters to find a scrape goat for their lack of insight spoke volumes as neighbors contributed to the fund raising event.
It's no secret that the service organizations are experiencing dwindling numbers of volunteers and funding sources whose rolls are being taken over by PROFESSIONALS ,Mandates and threats of lawsuits.
Examine the high rise costs of the sports programs with their injuries, insurance, transportation, the exposure to lawsuits by those engaged in serving the touted children's needs to keep them off the streets....Did the Board Members and their supporters discuss the relevancy and impact of this budget item in their PUBLIC meetings??No,thusly the lack of explanation created a lack of confidence in the Boards actions to bring about understanding in the community which blame they passed on to us who voted to defeat their Budget.
Little or no attention is paid to the realities that these proponents of children's rights and their supporters are willing to look at as this one item examplifies to highlight their rolls as the Publics Overseers who found it more expedient to play one group against the other....
Roger Coleman Publisher of the Hudson Register Star gives us his and the Register Star Editorial's defensive self serving analysis while dismissing the HCSD Board's open mindness to Mr.Fleming's and other concerned citizens that the HCSD Board and Administrators who were questioned with no responses to clear the air from them in adopting their budget.
Mr.Coleman points out his paper's 7 day publishing to the 2 day Independent's Publishing position to justify his paper's advantage as though we readers cannot read between the lines.
