It's so hard to make any money at a racertrack when you look at what it takes to run a racetrack. The money made is not really worth the effort, unless you are a true racer/promoter. I'm not saying Arlene makes all of the right calls or that she does a good job with the track....I'm saying that it cost a lot and $15 is chump change for what the racers spend on saturday night. When I raced, I used to have to have at least $100 when I left the house, or I would be SOL. If Arlene could get someone to sponsor the banquet, then that would be great, but she has to do that all season long already. Think about how much insurance costs per night. How much it cost to run the lights. How much it costs for security and ambulances. How much it costs to pay the staff. And then you have the racers. The concessions may get the staff paid, but that's about all.
