We got my dogs from a shelter, and two of my old cats, and then my other cats we found or adopted from someone who couldn't keep them or whatever =). Overcrowding is always a problem, and really, the best way to help out is to find out exactly what donations are needed and get them. Most places have a list of the items that they want. And is the shelter you're helping a no-kill shelter? Be sure to find out that too, because it's always good to know who you're helping. Good luck! (NT) --
