I ended up having to uninstall the game(after making sure all my babyz were saved somewhere else) then I went into Program Files and deleted the Mindscape File, make sure you get rid of everything, even empty the recycle bin. Also make sure your speakers are plugged in. Then reinstall the game. But I also had to download a baby and put it in the Adopted Babyz folder before my game would work, none of the ones I already had would work at first. Also reset the registry before you open the game. Once I did all that I could put all my babyz back in the game and it has worked fine.
Oh and if you have Windows XP I'm sure you know you have to set the game up in Windows 2000 compatibility mode.
