How old is the computer? Your speakers have to be plugged in.
Go to this website http://www.ubi.com/US/Games/babyz
Click on Support on the left hand side.
Then click on Search the knowledge bases.
Under select Product in the first drop down box select PC titles. In the second drop down box select Babyz. Then just click the Search button. There is a list of problems and the answers on how to fix them. That's how I got my game to work again.
I hope it helps.
Also when you uninstall make sure you go into Windows Explorer and go in Program Files and delete the Mindscape folder. And empty your recycle bin. You may also have to go into your Registry Editor before you reinstall, but I don't know if that will make a difference or not. If you don't know how to get into your Registry Editor let me know.
