To me, that's something you say to someone that you don't need a response from, because you know that it's there. I guess it seems like if you need someone to confirm that they love you, it may not be love, just lust :\ Thats just what I think though, maybe take it easy with him and do some stuff that's not so one-on-one 'we're a couple'-y..just go out with friends together and lay off the "i love you" thing until you hear from him.
