Remember, a bicycle is it's own built-in escape route! All a thief has to do to steal an unlocked bicycle is hop on and ride quickly away! Fast, quiet and extremely hard to stop when it happens, even if you are there. I had my first bicycle stolen while I was eating White Castle. A guy came up and while fumbling with something in his pocket announced he was going to take my bicycle! I was 19 and green as heck. I tried to reason with him and talk him out of it. But he hopped on my unlocked bike and rode up Hodiamont off Delmar! And there I was, White Castle in hand and no bike! Had I locked my bike, it would have been a LOT harder for the guy to just ride off, yano?

Now I'm not exactly some sort of cage fighter style guy, and was even less so back when I was 19. But there's no way in hell I'd just let some guy come up, *announce* he has taking my bike, and then just let him ride off. At some point down in the core of your psyche, there has to be some little spark of rage that event should trigger. And it should release a flood of adrenaline and unleash at least some amount of retard strength fist pounding action. But no, Kuthe just stands there eating his burger like a dope, and watches him ride off.
