JPMorgan Chase To Buy Vastera In $129 Mln. Deal - Update 1 [JPM]

1/7/2005 7:27:35 AM Friday before the bell, JPMorgan Chase Bank (JPM) and Vastera (VAST) revealed signing of an Agreement and Plan of Merger whereby Vastera would be purchased by the Logistics and Trade Services businesses of JPMorgan Chase's Treasury Services unit and combined with the same.

As per the Agreement and Plan of Merger, Vastera shareholders would get $3.00 for each outstanding share of Vastera common stock they own, for a total transaction value of about $129 million.

On Thursday, shares of JPM ended at $38.71, while VAST ended at $2.00.
