About BIG W Vision
BIG W Vision is a full service optometry store, offering everything from professional eye testing to quality eye care products for less.
Using state-of-the-art equipment, our qualified optometrists can test your eyes on site, as well as screen for eye conditions like glaucoma and cataracts. Eye tests are bulk-billed to Medicare so you can have your eyes professionally tested at no cost. Plus we also process health fund rebates on the spot.
If you’re after a new look we have over 600 great frames to choose from, including complete glasses from just $56 and the leading designer brands at BIG W’s famous low prices. Plus you’ll find great value on quality optical lenses, contact lenses and all your eye care products.
BIG W Vision is open 7 days a week within selected BIG W stores in Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and now open in NSW.

All about Eye sight testing
How often?
Early detection is vital to treating some of the common eye conditions; BIG W Vision recommends an eye sight testing every 2 years, even if you don’t wear glasses and even if your vision is still good.
What's involved?
A complete eye sight test involves a series of tests designed to evaluate your vision and check for eye diseases. It doesn’t hurt. The eye exam usually begins with your medical history and any vision problems you might be experiencing. Next, your Optometrist checks both the inside and outside of your eyes. Finally, your Optometrist measures your vision and assesses your need for glasses or contact lenses.
What eye disorders are screened for in an eye sight test?
There are too many to mention, however some more commonly known ones include Glaucoma, Cataracts, Macular Degeneration, Dry Eye, Allergies, Diabetic Maculopathy, Turned Eye and Astigmatism to name a few.
What about Children?
Early identification of a child’s vision problem can be crucial because children often are more responsive to treatment when they are diagnosed early. All children should be examined before they are three years old and again before starting school.
What does it cost?
Eye sight tests are bulk billed to Medicare, so for eligible Medicare card holders Medicare Australia covers the full cost of the exam meaning there is no out of pocket expense for you.

Optical Satisfaction Guarantee
At BIG W Vision Centres, we are committed to ensuring that you are satisfied with your BIG W shopping experience. That's why we have our customer satisfaction guarantee that gives you the following benefits in addition to your statutory consumer rights:
BIG W Vision will...
•Within 4 weeks of the original purchase date BIG W will replace your glasses if you are not completely satisfied.
•Within 12 months of the original purchase date BIG W will repair or replace your glasses if your glasses are found to be faulty.
•Lifetime – Unlimited free cleaning and adjustment of your glasses.
Prescription Glasses
•If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may exchange your glasses within 4 weeks from the original purchase date for another pair of equal value.
•If your glasses are found to be faulty, BIG W will repair or replace them within 12 months from the date of purchase.
•To maintain the comfort and fit of your glasses, BIG W will service, clean and adjust them free for the lifetime of the glasses.
Disposable Contact Lenses
•If you are new to disposable contact lenses, and your practitioner recommends an alteration to your initial prescription within 4 weeks of the original purchase date, BIG W will exchange the original lenses for your newly prescribed lenses (to equal or lesser value)
Conventional Contact Lenses
•If your practitioner recommends that you discontinue use of conventional contact lenses, due to patient intolerance, BIG W will refund the cost of the lenses (within 4 weeks from the original purchase date)
Health Fund Rebates
Time to Claim your Health Fund Rebate
BIG W Vision offers on the spot rebates for all the major health funds, so no matter who you’re with we’ve got you covered. And because we process rebates on the spot, you pay little or no cost for your new glasses. Remember, most health funds offer one rebate per calendar year, so make sure you use your entitled rebate before it ends.
