I'd have to lean towards the idea that Sarte's hell would be better than a place of eternal torture. But then again, maybe pain would be the better of the two because you could still control your mind, whereas when you are with people they would manipulate your mind and cause mental confusion and torture. Plus, maybe after 'x' amount of years of pain torture one could not feel it any longer. That would be convenient if you were in hell. So I'd have to go with the painful hell rather than the communal hell.
