Subject: Freedom in the fall

I am a lover of liberty, so JB's critique of freedom as more of a burden than anything else really upset me. Isn't it through freedom that man truly learns? If man did not have freedom, what would seperate us from the animals? Although I believe a soul is what makes us human, isn't our freedom a great part of that? Isn't through making those difficult decisions and having to think for ourselves that we develop as humans? I'm sorry, but I do not think that I agree with JB (and Camus) at all. Maybe I am reading this wrong and someone can correct me, but if not, I find this idea to be very destructive.
