I feel like you're in greater need of a good story in Disneyland than anywhere else. Rivals beset you on every side! Seriously, one dude got the girl and flew on a magic carpet, another guy killed the pirate, flew, and got the girl, the other guy killed a dragon and got the girl, they all end up becoming some version of royalty, the villains are villainous and get villain girls, and the animal kingdom is anthropomorphized to the point that we can say that they too, kill the enemy lion and get the girl.

And then there's the girls, who invariably get the dashing royal fellow who just overcame insurmountable odds without messing up his hair; or at least only reaching the "carefully disheveled" point with the 'do.

How can a mere, earthbound mortal compete with that?

You've got to go into Disneyland with a take-no-prisoners storytelling strategy.
