Hi Jessica, it will all depend on the extent of the damage, and being 9 years old it will also depend on if he has arthritis . I cannot say what your vet can do for him but you can deffinitly give him lots of quiet time, cage rest and no long walks and do not let him climb stairs, or jump up or off of furniture.
