(OOC: I have a long guideline thing about pups, if you want to read it, please do.
1) Pups are born 60-62 days after mating process occurs.
2) Female starts digging the den three to four weeks.
3) The mate of the female is NEVER aloud to come into the den, until the pups come out, he can then touch them.
4) Pups are born deaf, and with they're eyes closed.
5) The tunnel to the den is usually 6 to 14 ft. long, and can not be built where water can leak in, but must be built high aside a river because the female will drink a lot while nursing the pups.
6) All newborn pups have dark grey or brown fur, nothing else.
7) Each newborn weighs about 1 pound, 1.5 at max. Also, pups around around 1 ft. long, with stubby short tails.
8) For the first 12 days pups do nothing but sleep and nurse, and later in they're lives spend a lot of time
sleeping still.
9) The mother ONLY leaves her den to drink, and not even make contact or keep in touch with the other wolves, ONLY to drink! The mate is the only one aloud to bring food, unless there is no mate or the mate died.
10) About 12 days after birth, pups are able to open they're eyes, and they investigate around they're den.
11) First they learn to stand, then about 2 days later, learn to walk.
12) The newborns teeth then come in, small teeth, and they chew on each others tails a tremendous amount.
13) The average litter range is 4-8 most of the time.
14) When about 2.5 weeks old, they can hear and see very well. (Tip) Pups don't whine when they're born! They only whine after they have opened they're ears and eyes!
15) At three weeks, the pups go outside to investigate the area, in a range of about 10 x 10, increasing a bit every day, until they are out of the territory, then they decrease a bit.
16) When the pups first come out of the den, it is the first time the others get to see them. They run up and smother the pups with licks and greetings, while the father stands guard over them as they survey.
17) For the next few months, the pups love to play outside, and each of the pack members are equally protective of the pups. (Tip) The father sometimes plays too rough with the pups, the female will growl to tell him "Take it easy" in a wolf way.
18) When four weeks old, they no longer have to nurse on they're mother. They are able to eat spat up meat. The pups just nuzzle ANY member of the pack, and it should feed them.
19) When the pups try to nurse from her, after learning to eat solids, she will snap at them.
20) At 8 weeks old, they ONLY eat solid food.
21) At three months, the pups begin to act more like adults, and if they try to enter the den, the mother will snap at them and chase them awway.
22) When the pack goes on hunting trips, younger adults will stay and guard the pups.

I recieved all of this reference from a book! I'm just trying to help in making this an even more life-like role playing game, so don't flame me!
