si se me permite intervenir en la discusión.

Creo que es fácil malinterpretar algunas expresiones y llevarlas hasta el extremo de hacerlas decir lo que no se quiso decir.

No creo que en este foro nadie dude de que lo realmetne importante es la dignidad del sacerdote, el sacramento, la acción de Dios en el mundo a través de sus ministros (servidores).

Pero tampoco creo que sea ninguna barbaridad decir que la estola es un signo de dicha dignidad, y esos signos también tienen su importancia.

Una imagen de Nuestra Madre no es la Virgen María, pero eso no impide que podamos venerarla a través de dicha figura.

Por supuesto, la dignidad sacerdotal (ese sello en el alma) se mantiene a pesar de la "indignidad" de alguno de sus ministros.

Igual que en el bautismo, hombres como los demás sí (con sus debilidades y torpezas, y con su concupiscencia), pero marcados por el sello indeleble del sacramento, de la elección de Cristo.
