do you think Beat Takeshi gleaned their name from Takeshi's Castle, the popular and hilarious japanese self-abuse game show now hosted by the voice of long defunct fictional/factional red dwarf loser and crap poet craig charles?

It's a good thing

you get what you pay for and therefore you are now twice as good as before

how much would you say craig charles could command for a show these days?

i will probably update the website to change that.

i believe beat takeshi take their name from the actor takeshi kitano who took the nickname beat takeshi from his comic duo 'the two beat'
he is widely considered to be Japan's foremost media personality. In addition to his work in the film industry he is an active newspaper columnist, an author and poet, and a ubiquitous presence on Japanese television where he can be seen in up to eight prime time shows per week.

he starred in such films as zatoichi, battle royale and....johnny mnemonic

that's a much better source

I think for doing a while series craig charles could command enough to suit his current requirements

I don't want to be harsh to the man, I quite liked lister

Wow! Some people on here really know how to research a character! You know more than me about Beat Takeshi and I'm in the band!!! Lol! In addition, Beat Takeshi (the film director/actor etc) is also Count Takeshi from Takeshi's Castle!!! We named our band before we had even heard of the show but we embrace the recognition it gives us!!!

See you guys at the gig!

Will. (Beat Takeshi)
