Ever spent half a year waiting for an album to come out only to be upset and annoyed at it's pure bland, dull, boring and crapness?

i saw athlete very early last year in cambridge supported by snow patrol, was an amazing gig. but basically! they were an indie band, with synthasizors and a dance edge to them. that's why i liked them so much.

the new album tourist out this past monday is nothing short of shocking and rubbish. it's not a depressing album it's no upbeat or happy it's just naff.

Not that any of you people with good music taste would go anywhere near a band such as athlete i just thought i'd start a new posting spree.

whats the worst album you've ever brought>?

most over rated?

anyone got the chemical brothers new album, it's awesome. i'm borrowing it, can't actually afford it!

hotch, when you going to po na na next? you owe me a dance (probably)

im going to see athlete in march..but obviously i am nowhere near as cool as everyone else. I really like their single. And their last album took me a while to get into, but it turns out its quality stuff. but ive not heard the new athlete one. so i cannot pass judgement on that.

worst album ive ever owned has to go to the shania twain one i got for christmas once. i dont think ive ever bought an album i dont like, usually becuase someone else already has it and tells me to get it. fail safe.
most overrated, i dont think protection by massive attack is as good as its supposed to be, but still a bargain at £5. THe sugababes 2nd album is a bit rubbish after the first couple of tracks too. Im so cool

i still love the first athlete album, but had a great fear this one would not live up to it. the first was just really damn good pop, but they couldnt do the same again without boring me, and i didnt think theyd be able to deal with any other styles. which is a great shame...but as i havent heard this new album, i dont have an opinion yet. its not looking promising from reviews and your little apprasial there...

My friend ingrid has it and loves the album, so don't take my word for it. i loved the first album and love the track 'wires' on the new one, but the rest are just not what i expected or want. however selfish that sounds.

The worst album in ever brought was when I brought Limited addition Think Tank into the kitchen and spilt tea on the lovely red material case.

Someone gave me a kylie album on cassette tape when I was too young to refuse and I owned the let loose album also on cassette before I managed to conceal it for good and therefore stop owning it.

I might've eaten it

I don't like athlete but if you're after some very good electro-pop go for junior boys who are so addictive I'm seriously considering buying their album.

sara and i just went to see athlete at the UEA. very nice.
my opinion is that the new stuff is a bit less fun than the stuff from the first album, there were a couple of nice ones though.
a main difference i noticed is that the new songs all seem to be about love, whereas vehicles and animals had quirkier subjects like old men on hills and being hit on the head by something..

havent heard the album though

you can't truly be poptastic without quirky lyrics

were they all boy-girl love or was there some boy-recycle bicycle, girl-epillator and man-crab in a bucket love too?

unfortunately not, though there was a song that was about someone being the first on his list. that list could well have been people most likely to agree to being 'loved' by a curly umbrella handle whilst being licked by four hundred garden snails who would rather be in a cabbage patch.
