good evening! hows everything back home. it feels like i left ages ago, when actually ive only had three waking days here...but three different cities and two different countries. i'm having a wonderful time...in melaka now, on the west coast of malaysia...cant really tell you what its like as ive been here 3 hours, 2 and half hours of which have been spent talking to estaban, my italian roomate (i dont know how old he is, but hes been travelling since at least 5 years before i was born. i wonder if he feels like he has a home. i didnt ask him of course.
the rest of my time has been spent burning all tastebuds out of my mouth instead of having dinner.
see you soon

we call him max bass...

emily, i have emailed you, are you sure that address is still working, i am not sure i have ever had success reaching it...

i'm in kuala lumpur now, and its ridiculously hot and sweaty here, not going to be staying long, the worst hostel yet by a long way, its a mattress and a fan, 3 floors up...but we were tired and KL is a hub, i need to get here to get to the taman negara national park...which hopefully will be where i'm going tomorrow...

I may have given it to you wrongly then, being a small person of little brain, it's filled_with_defiance@hotmail.com. If its still being buggery, try eminoacid@aol.com.

Hope the next port of call isn't as sweaty and full of 3 floors up mattresses.
Much Love
x

Mr Max Bass and Mrs Poppy Bass send their love!

wow, going back to geography,
We studied the taman negara national park in A-level for ecotourism, it looked good in a book.

i'm back in kuala lumpur again and having a much nicer time this time around, i hadnt been out of any cities last time, was just a little too much for me...been going to music bars in chinatown, i dont know the city that well so i'm not sure if its true or not, but as far as i could see there were no bands whatsoever playing their own music...they all took requests on little carlsberg sponsored pieces of paper...
i wonder if there is an actual music scene hidden in the city...
been very busy in the space in between here, im not posting much here often, as when i do get time to go on the internet, there are emails to reply to, which are far more important, actual contact is better
taman negara was beautiful though a little too built up and crowded for me, not what i was expecting at all, at least at the beginnings of the park and we didnt bring enough money with us to afford the guide to take us around (anything thats the equivalent of more than 100 meals here, regardless of english translation, i am reluctant to pay)
unfortunately my lack of spending money there meant the walks were confined only to places we could reach and return to our chalet within a day...
been to some spectacular islands, on pulau perhentian kecil i stayed at one of my favourite places ive ever been to, mira's beach, its a wonderful family run place in a jungle surrounded cove 30 mins walk from the more built up places on the island, with no concrete anywhere, a small scattering of wooden huts across the beach...
and most importantly, next to no people at all, ive never been so relaxed...
its so hard to describe beach areas without it sounding the same as every other good one...but this one was different...really.
i swam with sharks

i miss the band
