Michael McKevitt is the co-founder (along with his partner Bernadette Sands McKevitt) of the 32 County Sovereignty Movement, a political pressure group campaigning for the restoration of Ireland's sovereignty. He was arrested in March 2001 on the word of paid informants working for MI5 and the FBI; his trial was a sham. He was sentenced to twenty years and is still in Portlaoise Prison.
