OK...I'll let you in on a little secret...this is the desert I make when I'm making a big dinner and need something I can do ahead of time. In your case, good for advance prep and easy!!!

BOSTON (that's still in New England, right? hehe) Cream Pie:

1 Yellow Cake Mix (Which means you'll need oil & eggs too)
2 Cups Vanilla Pudding (Store bought works. If you make it yourself, thats one regular size package of the mix)
1 Can Chocolate Frosting

Mix cake batter. Pour 1/4 into each of 2 cake round cake pans. (The other half the mix is extra. You could duplicate the recipe and use it to bring a second, get creative with it {call me for ideas!}, or at 99 cents a box just toss it.

Bake @350 until a toothpick comes out clean (probably about 20 minutes). Remove from pans and let cool COMPLETELY!!!!

Spread chilled pudding on one of the cakes (do not cover sides). Place other cake on top of pudding and cover top of this cake with chocolate frosting. Refridgerate until ready to serve!!

From start to finish this will take you about a half an hour, including clean up.
