I'm back and our trip was awesome!! The three of us had a great time. We climbed two peaks on Saturday (Phelps and Tabletop) and hiked out on Sunday. Those were my first with snowshoes -- there's still quite a bit on the peaks, you need the snow shoes and/or crampons for the ice. Unfortuantely, the clouds didn't break until after we were down from the peaks so we did not see much of a view, well not one at all....

But, coming back down was fun. With the snowshoes you can basically slide down and we each did at least one butt slide, but we made it down in no time at all! We hung out at the lean-to for dinner then went to bed Sat. night. It probably was down around 20 at night. I was toasty and actually was taking off layers. The practice trip we did in January definitely helped! Our friend was a bit colder, he had less winter gear, but he was ok once we got moving again in the morning.

Can't wait to plan the next one... I now have done 12 of the Adirondack 46 -- the 46 tallest peaks in the Adirondacks, all that are above 4000 ft.

Talk to you soon
Laura
