] Date Posted: Mon, Nov 29 2004, 11:58:28 ERI legal letters - ignore them totally. The company will not seek legal proceedings against anyone since their causes are not legitimate. Have you seen anyone prosecuted for forfeiting payment to a timeshare company in Singapore? The answer is NEGATIVE. If you have not fully paid the fee, you can start ignoring your remaining instalments. Cos even when the fees are fully paid, you do face the possibility of the company closing and you risk losing the money anyway. Unfortunately, there is absolutely no way to get your money back. Even with the new Case's pro-consumer ruling that there is a 3-day 'cool down' period. Good luck trying to contact the timeshare company within those 3 days. No one is EVER contactable. By the time you reach them, the 3-day period is over. Tough luck! The future is gloomy for all timeshare victims. The only hope is to get the rest to wise up and be educated about such scams. No one I know has ever been able to get their money back. Also, forget about harbouring hopes of recovering your losses by assigning someone else to sell the timeshare package. These sales companies are in cahoot with the timeshare people. You pay them a fee and they disappear or worse still, ask you to top up more money so that you can 'convert' your timeshare into some more 'sellable'. Then, they will claim their commission from these timeshare operators. These people are leeches and they will suck your blood dry! But if you have only paid the deposit, you should quickly stop future payments. This is the only useful advice I can offer, being a victim myself, and having stopped my payment 4 years ago. I still receive threatening letters but you have to simply ignore them. Really hope this helps. Ask me anything... will be happy to help.
