] Date Posted: Sun, Feb 29 2004, 9:35:09 Hello everyone: My current situation is that I have unpaid membership fees with MTC. I am trying to decide whether to pay them so I can make a booking. However, I am worried that I may get cheated when I try to reserve my resort. Most of the posts I've read in here talk about being cheated during the sales process, but only a few mention being cheated when they try to book a trip. I visited Pattaya hill resort some years back, location of resort is bad, quite a distance away from the beach, the apartment is about 3 star or less with a kitchen. Even when we stay there some MTC group people contact us and bring us to view some villa (which they throw in 2 free massage) asking us to upgrade ! Dont believe them !!! A 1 week stay in a 3star resort is worth roughly the price of your MTC membership fee. What about the $1000 that you gave to IRN? Date Posted: Tue, Mar 02 2004, 15:21:50 Consider me stupid. We were talking about 5 star resorts also when they try to sell me, only that you get to see it yourself. You can find also Ubin resorts now listed as one of the exchange in RCI ! Not sure what you meant about the $1k, I paid more than 10k plus yearly maint fees for this resort and for this trip I think only admin fee is charged. Not a good deal !
