I am one of the many who experienced high-pressure sales tactic from Oriental Travel in 2001.

Now I am asking all those who were victims of Oriental Travel pl contact me at gungho9@yahoo.com so that we can meet in person and discuss a course of action against OT.

Pl put "Victim of Oriental Travel" in the subject field and furnish me with a phone contact number.

Hi Dennis,

What action you intend to take as there are quite a number of person from this page that you can gather. Have you tried sending these victim a mail?
My recent encounter with Oriental Travel PL was that they have now come out with another top up scheme call "Vivale Concierge" by converting your existing Gold Crown/Oriental Travel P L membership to this new ownership.As my LRB was not sent last 2004, my husband and I were told that we will loose our guaranteed sum of S$5K on the last page of the Loyality Reward Bonus chq book unless we top up and convert,but as we are now in financally difficulty, we are not able to so. Wth that, they just tell us there is nothing they could help. It was through so much of a hassle that we got the director who was in charge of reinstating the LRB and are writing to him for approval.No new yet but just want to hear you out in case my appeal fall through as we know for sure we can't get back the full amount we paid but at least we are hopping to get back some at the 10 years grace time and provided we ensure the LRB are sent every Jan of each year. Just trying our luck.

Oriental Travel was incorporated in 2001. That is, they have not yet seen their 1st 5yr LRB claim. Should they close down, where would you claim your LRB.

As for their trustees, they are based abroad (Isle of Man). That means that it would be even more difficult to make your claim and I don't think the Consumer Protection Act applies to foreign companies.

In this case, alot of those member who had sign up with Oriental Travel P L would be just as good as us being cheated by them. There are still alot of innocent people out there who does not know of this scam. If you do drop by at their office at Shaw House, you can see lots of innocent people that walk into this trap. You can see that they feel so satisfied thinking that they had a good deal but only to realised that they have been cheated out of their money like us. What could we do to stop Oriental Travel P L?????

Has anyone read the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act? Coorperation between victims is best as numbers mean credibility.

Hi,

We got a reply from Oriental Travel P L with regards to reinstating our LRB and they replied that the LRB is treated as void and null with no explaination.
Quite disappointed and angry with this whole scam and like what other victim have been commenting,treat it as a lesson and never to believe and sign up anymore of such memerbship. Just hope those innocent people out down along Orchard Road don't end up like us.
Just when we were trying to get over this whole mess we are in, we just got a call from a company claiming they were given a project by Oriental Travel/Gold Crown to help theri members to dispose their membership. We were told thay they will help us dispose off our membership, if we were to allowed us to help and they kept assuring us that this is not a scam.
My husband bluntly question on why was OT/GC so nice out of the a sudden to have given this project to requst Dynamikz Netwerkz to help their memebers to dispose and what was their movtive. The telesales were very offened after we told her off but she managed to calim down after she heard our story. Anyway,she is just a staff and in case you get any phone from this company called Dynamikz Netwerkz, do be caution as I believe this is another scam and we hope who ever is a Oriental Travel P L/Gold Crown victim now,please be more caution. We should not be signing anymore to loose more.

hi doris!

my family was also contacted by a telesales from dynamikz netwerkz and we have made an appointment to go down tomorrow (sunday).

we are all also very wary and cautious abt signing anymore documents. so did u go down to dynamikz netwerkz and did u sell ur managed to sell your Oriental Travel membership? they did promise us a 75% return in money and it sounds too good to be true.

it'd be good if u could reply me. thanks alot :)

Common Doris, let's start taking some action instead of just complaining. Just check-out the thread by Vini & Jaws ..... they have gotten back their money. No funny CONsultants needed, just plain common sense.

I think Dynamikz Netwerkz is just telemarketing.
When I went to meet up. Guess What.
It is LGM saying they will offload our membership (Cash back to get back at least 75% of membership amount)
and get free benefits from their membership for few years.

Something fishy, i got out.
So beware.
