Hey juz gone by thru Orions Network consultation and met wif a consultant,i forgotten his name but he look too nerdy to me wif glasses on him, talking to me with a fake accent and look very intellectual...how will they probe into getting our moneyback and who will guarantee our money that we paid..? coz the consultant told me that they,Orions are going to invest in the bank which yet hav not come to any terms with the bankers...i find it tooo stupid coz i hav actually went to the bank itself n none of the bank knws or ever heard of ORION's BELT NETWORK.i think this a new way of getting money out of us.but one thing i must admit that they have a cooperate lawyer in terminating the timeshare membership, but who knws coz i have a friend who is actually a member of Orions who after doing the termination with them, she still received the maintenence fee letter, maybe abt the lawyer is true but maybe also their admin and workers are too inefficient to handle her case as soon as possible.its just so ridiculous when they actually asked me to top up $15,000 and get back my money at $32,000.i just find it too absurd.

i think we should be aware that not all companies are scam....because end of the day we are the ones seeking help not them.....if you just go there to find out wat they do and how much it cost, then it's shallow of you....
did you check wat lawyers they deal with?or are you only interested in the cost?sometimes we have to think of what we're doing....because we are the ones that put the ink on the agreement paper....i've actually terminated with Orion and i've met their lawyers in peninsula...they are actually for real....and i've got confirmation with club lacosta that my membership is in the process of termination....

cheers...

Hello Joseph,

Did you have to top up any money to entitle for the cashback program?

I have to top up S$18000, plus trade in my current timeshare, which total to 30K+++.

Did they tell you which bank they are doing to carry out the cashback program?

Have you meet up with their laywer?

Regards,
oq

Hello Chan,

How long did you have to wait for the reply on termination from your club?

Have you get back the amount of money stated under their cashback policy for your case?

I peronally have to trade in my current timeshare and fork out another S$18000, in order to join their program for the cashback policy.

Anyone care to share their successful experience...!!!

Hi Chan,

How long did it take for them to inform you on the termination (for your case)?

Have you receive any sort of doucments (from bank...etc) stating that you will be receiving your cashback program amount by certain date?

Many Thanks...

Hi Chan

Keep a copy of everything for as long as you can in case you are haunted in the future by the same company or some other companies like how some victims here have experienced. Please read the postings on this forum if you want examples.

why do singaporeans think lawyers can make miracles happen?

a contract [any contract, timeshare or otherwise] needs an offer by 1 party and acceptance by the other party

similarly, if u want to terminate the contract, u normally will need both parties consent

what a lawyer can do, is to tell the party that maybe the timeshare company has made a false representation, and that if they don't allow termination, they will be sued in court...

the lawyer cannot just transfer away your liability, even if there is a sucker willing to take it from u

besides CASE, u can approach the free legal clinics conducted at many CCs in singapore for advice

the forum is a nice place to talk, but for actual assistance, u need to let the experts [CASE or lawyers] see the contract signed

not all timeshare contracts are the same...

I had went thru a meeting with Orions. It seem wad they offer is u pay a certain fee to them so they will help you to cancel your timeshare. Its about $5,000 or more.

There is a certain cashback program too. But that means u have to fork out additional money and I think the cashback is also not guaranteered one lor. So might as well skip it.

On top of it, u are suppose to join a vacation "package" where u pay think $75 annually or use their service. Sounds weird to me, why u have to do that.

Btw, read somewhere in this forum that U dun have to pay your maintenance fee if u write in to your timeshare company and terminate your membership and give up your week. Not sure if its true. If it is, then.. why waste money getting lawyers to settle your timeshare?

Anyway, I was there for 6 hours. Initially was a guy, then his boss, then the company lawyer, then his Managing director.

Erh .. felt intimidating leh. Went to LGM before, also sthg like that, a lady, then her boss, then a lawyer (who is suppose to tell u the terms) then when I really want to leave, their Managing director personally come and see me.

So, in the end, I just walked out. Too tired to even think and I had learnt enuff from my timeshare experience never to make any decision when I am tired.

Don't trust all these companies trying to help u sell your timeshare. U will get into a lot more trouble than u already are. And u will loose more of your hard-earned money. Most of these companies are affiliated with timeshare marketing companies and holiday clubs. And u will find that your particulars are circulated around and u will get calls from God Knows Whom. Please be wary my friends. Your timeshare has no resale value. Just use it if u want to keep paying your increasing maintenance fees or subscription and let these foreigners take u for a ride with your precious dollars. Or just let your membership expire by not paying your maintenance fees or annual subscription. Caveat Emptor!

OK... I am trying George's advice... and trying to go one better...

I just faxed International Vacation Ownership on a copy of their "Management Charge Invoice / Statement of Account" with my own message written clearly in a central space:

"I hereby instruct you to donate my 'membership' [number added] to an officially recognised charity, Unicef, with immediate effect."

Signed [my signature, 28 Jan 2006]

I guess they will all have a good laugh... then send the boyz round!

Cheers for CNY... Gong xi fa cai.

hi guys and hi george krishnan
just would like everyone to know that george and i used to work for two major time share companies in singapore.
I would like george to know that he is doing a great job in making sure that our people are not getting into anymore trouble then they already are!

As for me and my partner Akram we are helping our people to get them out of their timeshare liabilities. Nothing is for FREE!

We could either start a website for free like george and sit at home after his day job as a taxi driver and start chatting or we could step in and help, we decided to help.

I hope i have not offended you my friend, but would like you and the rest of the people to know that there are ways to get rid of your time shares and as for the cash back, if its not local, dont bother.

We are advising the above company on how to help timeshare owners to cut their losses, get rid of their future liabilities and move on with their lives.

OBN so far is doing good with applicants and soon they will go media with their clients. cheers AP

So you are saying you sold many timeshares to so many people while in those timeshare companies, and now you start up a new company, charging thousands of dollars to "help" members "get rid" of their timeshares? Wow! you sure are a great samaritan. Btw, Taxi Driving is a very noble profession. They provide a service which people actually want. So when is OBN "going media with the cilents"?

Hello Austin, is it true u used to work at LGM and then went on to IRN and then when things got sour or or u became disillussioned u now decided to join force with another of your kind 'Akram' who use to work with LGM, and have this noble idea to 'help timeshare owners to cut their losses, get rid of their future liabilities and move on with their lives'? Don't be a hypocrite and stop conning people. What u should do is show remorse for cheating all those people while working in timeshare and like George help people get out of their predicament and educate them about timeshare, timeshare marketing companies and timeshare resell companies. A check with ACRA does not show OBN to be a registered entity. Can u please explain?

Well i will be Damned for most of the people chatting in this voy have once sold timeshare for a living!!!!!! I wonder What most of you are doing for a living now. Maybe this is a cult... Maybe.

Or maybe most of you are still working for the big Scam companies and you have set up all this voy to stop companies like obn to actually render assistance.

Which then keeps geuine timeshare victims from solving their problems.

I run a food stall and im willing to meet anyone who thinks that you have a case against what obn is doing.Im not a staff of obn but i do advise if necassary.(lunch on me)

After all i will only be seen as hypocritital towards those who have once bought a timeshare from me and now is stuck with one and all they can do is read this voy.

cheers AP

Hi, from what i know, OBN is doing an investment call MRP. 'Monetary Return Policy' which is an investment plan which is put money take money which is all bullshit!!! We can check through the goverment are they allow to do so because they are not an investment company and they are misleading clients to do that. This cheating idea is sure from Austin "HYPOCRITE" as i learn from this forum he is used to be in LGM. Isn't it the same method as what LGM had done to us? I wonder what type of advice he can give if we meet him for lunch to see how a "HYPOCRITE" looks like.

dear timeshare owners,

before u start to believe mr AP, pls first check if u still have liability regarding your timeshare. many companies are "famous" for telling u that u still owe hundreds of thousands of maintenance fees...often the timeshare companies in question are already no longer in business, or perhaps they will simply terminate your contract.

how to check? go to CASE [www.case.org.sg], or see proper lawyers [www.lawsociety.org.sg]. why go through another company to see a lawyer, when u can do it directly?

many community centres also offer free legal clinics, go get a 2nd opinion from them first before u plonk down another S$10-20k...

Hi, if there is anyone who has sign up with OBN and nothing has been done so far as what they have promised...
Now its the time that you guy make a police report and sue them through civil suit as they are mis-leading you people to sign another contract...

Let join force and complain against theam and get back what they have conned us of..before more people will be conned.

My advice is all you guy should write in to CAD- Criminal Affair Department and they will check on this company

Action speaks louder than word…

I bought a membership from “Oriental Travel” in 2005 and have since tried to seek for a refund but the terms offered by the company (Oriental Travel) is unacceptable.

I was also approached by OBN. After reading these threads… I am totally skeptical but will still go with an open mind, in case it works for me as there isn’t a victim from OT yet and I agree that all contracts are different.

I did my homework (too late though) as I am more careful now that I got conned by OT once. OBN may just be another timeshare (or scam) company but I do know that it is owned by a S’porean, Indian who resides in northern part of S’pore with a PUC of $40K. That is all I will say about OBN.

I am appointing a reputable lawyer to sue OT, hoping to recover my money or remove them from the surface of S’pore if all else fail. OT is an entity owned by a UK company with PUC of $620K, although 1 British and 1 S’porean director has an address here.

I am also liaising with someone who works in the press to get me the names of victims of OT.

My appeal is this…
We share the legal cost to sue OT
We stand a better chance as a whole than individually
We stop them from cheating others
We will draw media intervention (and hopefully the government) if the case is blown to a proportional size

As you may see from my genuine sharing of information that I am a REAL VICTIM, will stop at nothing to eliminate OT from S’pore.

Drop me a line if you are interested to join in the battle with me. We may just get back what was rightfully ours or “kill” OT off.
