The bottomline line is...if you own a timeshare or vaction club membership, there is no such thing as resale of membership or renting out your resort weeks. Companies that claimed to offer such services are just out there to sell you some other scam products (in disguise) so that you will part with more of your money! For companies that claimed that they have protential buyers (local or oversea) who are very keen to buy over your membership, think twice before you go down. Their main intention is to get you to come down to their office so that they can psycho you with their club membership (eg. upgrade with cash top-up) or to offer you an option (which you will have to fork out more money) so that you can 'legally' sell away your timeshare/club membership (not guaranteed somemore). An example is that they will tell you that they have potential client (whom you will be meeting) who is willing to pay you 80%-120% of your original membership purchase. They will even say that you will receive money within 3 days once the deal is complete. You just have to bring down your original membership document and come down in person to meet with their client. However, when you are there, you will not see their client but only meet with the office sale representative. He will say that he need to check your membership contract to verify if it is licensed by a Trustee Company (now, when on earth is there such a thing as licensed or non-licensed contract?). They will come out with this story about how only if licensed contract with a Trustee Company will only be accepted by their client, knowing that most of our timeshare and vacation club memberships are not under a Trustee Company. Then they will try to offer you a service (which cost $10K an above) to get your membership be registered under a Trustee Company (to receive just a piece of stupid certificate) so that you can re-sell your membership in the next round of vacation membership valuation acquisition (not even sure if there will be any). The whole process will take another 12 months or more and who know what will happen next? In fact, when you are there, you don't even get to meet their client at all - who knows if there is really a potential client in their office. You will end up coming out of their office angry and disheartened. So before you ever go down to meet them (they will always contact you through a telemarketing company like Trust Media Pte Ltd), ask them questions like what is the actual company whom you will be meeting (could be one of those black-listed company), what requirements (exact paper documents) they really need to meet the criteria for their re-sale service and ask as much details before you decide to meet them. If they cannot satisfy you with your queries, don't even bother to go down. In fact, I would advise you not to even talk to them at all from the beginning. There is not such good thing in this world especially in the areas of timeshare and vaction club membership! This applies for company who offer to rent out your vacation weeks - DON'T BE FOOL BY THEM! THEY ARE WORST THAN SCAM company (eg. LGM or now so called CITILEISURE) that tricked you into buying your timeshare/vacation club membership!
