] Date Posted: Tue, Nov 01 2005, 11:55:32 Timeshare & Holiday Club victims often wonder why there are people who pay a different price for the same membership with the same company. The answer is simple. The consultants who meet & greet you at the reception and take you to the table are generally liars. They tell lies for a living. Simply because the commissions or money they earn is based on the sale amount of the membership; the higher the amount or price quoted for the membership - the more their income. That is why u may be quoted a handsomely large amount for the membership initially and then there is this process where actual bargaining takes place. Sounds familiar? Well this is how it is done. During the 'Pricing' stage of the presentation when the customer (or victim) has been sufficiently aroused to the intricacies of the membership and desire has been instilled the consultant will invite the Manager to come and quote u the price of the membership. U may be told that the offer is limited; the offer is only for that day; if you come back another day u have to pay the list price of the membership. Then the Manager and the consultant will leave the table and leave u (the couple) to discuss among yourselves and if u are alert u will notice that both the Manager and Consultant will be eyeing u from a discreet angle to see your reaction and to work out further strategies to convince u to buy. And then when they come back to the table again and u say the price is too steep the Consultant will ask u why u think the price is too steep. Then the game begins..... either u ask for a discount or u want to leave. Somehow u will be asked to stay and based on what u say u will be taken into the confidence of the consultant(who has already befriended u)who will then quote u a price which may be at your range of affordability. And the Manager comes back again and then makes a pretence of telling u that the price u wanted was nowhere within his approval limits and asks u the hapless victims if he could get his Superior (or Director) to agree to the price, would u take up the offer? And when u say yes thats when u are caught. The Manager will make a pretence of leaving the table to 'consult my Superior'. And hey presto! Approval given! Applause and congratulations! Does this scenario sound familiar? Now u know why u have been cheated? Caveat Emptor! [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
