Date Posted: Wed, Jan 25 2006, 1:39:09 RCI is not a Timeshare company. RCI is a vacation exchange company. Information regarding RCI can be found in their website http://www.rci-asia.com/ Information regarding timeshare can easily be found all over the internet. Just use your favorite search engine to search for it. I believe there are also many people out there that are also as knowledgeable about timeshare but just did not post anything on this forum. Date Posted: Wed, Jan 25 2006, 22:43:16 Well, if u want to know more about RCI and about the parent company Cendant Corporation pse go and look into the following : http://www.cendant.com/ http://news.rciventures.com/companyOverview.html RCI and Interval International (II) are the two biggest timeshare exchange companies in the world. If u ask me i wouldn't mind paying the annual subcription fees of the two companies (about S$150)to be a member and buy those 'Get-Away Specials' which give u some good value for your money. That is if u are happy to trade in your timeshare week and be subject to their criteria for securing your holiday exchanges. Not many people are aware that to have a successful exchange there are about 6 factors that determine your trading power and they are : 1. The demand for a specific week 2. The demand for a specific area 3. Your resort membership color code 4. Your unit size 5. The quality of the Resort (e.g. Goldcrown, Resorts of International distinction, 5-star etc) 6. How far in advance you have deposited your week. So to make a long story short if the timeshare membership u purchased is a 5-star resort and yours is a 2-Bed membership and u purchased a Red week and you deposited your week way in advance, chances are u may secure your exchange. But this is what timeshare marketing companies seldom educate their clients and u only discover this fact after u have signed up. And then u start to complain u cannot get your exchange! But it is too late as u have signed the contract and signed every column of the contract documents which say that u have fully understood about the membership and all the rules etc. (that is after being tortured for 3 to 4 hours and your senses are dull). What many people also don't realise is that u can't join RCI or II without being a member of a holiday club (or timeshare club). So u have to become a member of a resort or group of resorts and in the process get cheated by these people. Just read the forum and u see what i mean..... [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
