THERE ARE SO MANY CONDITIONS TO GET THE SO CALLED FREEBIES THAT YOU ULTIMATELY GIVE UP. ITS LIKE TRYING TO SNATCH THE MEAT FROM A TIGERS MOUTH! SO YOU SAY FORGET THE FREEBIES , ATLEAST I`LL GET PROMPT AND EFFICIENT SERVICE FOR BOOKINGS. I ASKED FOR INBOUND CHINA AIRLINES FLIGHT FROM KAOHSIUNG TO SINGAPORE FROM 27TH TO 2ND FEB- RATES QUOTED SGD 1410 WITHOUT TAXES!!!. I GOT THE TICKETS FOR LESS THAN SGD1000 WITH TAXES. NOT TO MENTION THAT THEY TAKE PRIDE IN SAYING WE WILL RESPOND IN 72 HOURS!!! WHILE ONE CAN PICK UP A PHONE AND GET BOKKINGS WITHIN MINUTES!! ANYBODY INTERESTED ..I`M WILLING TO SELL THE MEMBERSHIP AT HALF THE PRICE! A COMMON MODUS OPERANDI- YOU CALL THEM WITH A COMPLAINT, THEY SAY WE`LL GET THE CUSTOMERSERVICE TO CALL BACK. I CAN BET MY LIFE, HALF THE TIME THEY WOULDNT BOTHER TO CALL BACK. CONVENIENT WAY TO HANDLE THE CLIENTS-SCOOT AND RUN! ANGRY WITH LACK OF RESPONSE I CALL BACK AND ANOTHER PERSON PICKS UP THE PHONE AND THE SAME RESPONSE. I HOPE I COULD FIND A WAY TO STOP MORE PEOPLE FROM BEING CONNED. Date Posted: Sat, Feb 04 2006, 20:22:57 Hi, I called Oriental Travel once regarding a similar issue (ie. why the price they quoted is actually more expensive than what I could get on the website) and they replied that they would refund me the difference. Can't verify if that's the case cos i only asked them about this after i made the booking through the internet. However, having said that, there were instances that tix purchased thru Oriental were indeed SLIGHTLY cheaper (but not much). What frustrates me is that after paying so much money, we can't even have the peace of mind that what they quote us is indeed the lowest price without first doing our own homework!
