I found this website while looking for Jue Shi Marketing. My wife innocently paid $24 for a 'free' diamond watch that she will recieve 'in about six weeks' - guess what has happened? We attempted to follow-up but only have a PO box address and no telephone number!

I've noticed from all the posting that no one seems to have made subsequent contact with Jue Shi. Does anyone out there know the physical address, a contact person and telephone number/s of Jue Shi Marketing?

hi,
Gosh, this was the same letter I received sometime ago.
Just that they have made some changes to the fonts.
And the picture was exactly the same.

My name was also listed in the first prize column.
So call the "Toyota" winner !!

I was kind of delighted when I got the letter. Thinking that I have really won myself a car.....or $25,000 CASH !
I have nvr win any thing of high value before ! Cos the letter was really very convincing.

And I called to the toll free number, there was this guy, named Singh ( Speaks like an indian, too), tell me that I have really won myself the first prize. And there is nothing I need to do, but jsut bring myself and my wife. And I am supposed to wear causual smart, because there will be a prize presentation with some celebrities. ( See, they way they put it, sound real, isnt it ? ).

Then he was checking whether I am eligible before I can claim myself for the prize. He asked, whether am I married, is my wife Singapoorean, do I have an income of $4000 combine with my wife, do I own a credit card !
If all this meet their requirement, no further questions asked. You have really won yourself the 1.6L Toyota ! Congratulation to your, Sir !

"Sir, if you do not collect your prize within the next
24 hours, we will have to donate to the charity under the CID and Singapore Lottery law. And please also not that you will have to buy your own COE for the new car, and this will be record in the Inland revenue under the Tax Law. "

I almost could believe this could be real ! But definitely, my doubts for this still exist. I told myself, this could be not final until I relaly get the prize. And how can I trust that this isnt a hoax or watever?

So, I start to check on internet for the company name Touch and Tech media, Oriental travel,......the website was really impressive,....And I was telling myself inside, this could be for real !!! God is so good to me !

Until, I check on the last company name, " Jue Shi MArketing ", it lead me to this website. Gosh ! It's like dropped down straight from the sky ! I woke up !.......

Then I started to search for CID side of any records for this company, or the CID reference number. As any company that is giving out this kind of huge prize, need to get CID license.

I have alot to tell....but I am rushing out now,.....

Sorry, to make it so long.....
Anyway,.....dont believe all this gimmicks,....there is no free lunch in this world lah,......if you guys want more detials, please do not hesitate to write back to me....

Good luck !

Sky,.....

My husband received the same call claiming they are from a TV advertising company. Same impresssive story and they are calling 10 couples who would be interested to assist them with the launch. For the effort, we will receive Digital camcorder, 14 days at any of the 5 star hotel, eg. Marriot, etc.

They asked the same questions and criteria inorder to qualify for the launch. So we waited for their email confirmation. And we attended the session without first checking the credibility of the company. The atmosphere was tense and when we enter a big room with many small round tables and chairs. They were playing loud music in the background which irritates us. Sat through the whole presentation and decided to leave when they started to ask questions like "What is affordable to you?". And then they will call their manager to pose more questions. And as if this is not enough, the gift manager come with more questions....

We were given 3 days to send in our vouchers for the free camcorder with payment of $69 for the delivery and insurance, etc. That was when I started questioning and decided to check out. Thanks for the information and lesson learnt.

My colleague just received a call from Jue Shi Marketing Pte Ltd. They also claimed that they had sent the notification letters to her and can even recite out her full name and residential address. I had also received one such notification letter too. But I threw away and I bet i may receive such harrassing calls in no time.
When we threw away that notice, it would mean we would just take it as an advertising tactics. But now, they even have the cheeks to call people up. It was on the news not long ago, and yet they still dare to call people up for conning.

Can we actually bring this matter up to CASE or to report to the police to report as harrassments and attempting crime-breaking acts? Anyone know what we can do now?

I think you should report to CASE. More & more people are being 'conned' about this promotion. It was a lousy strategy to get people to listen to their sales talk on Oriental Travel.

Frankly, they not only cheat people out there, they also cheat employees regarding their salary & benefits. I worked there for 3 days & wasn't paid a single cent. They advertised that there is a basic pay and yet claim if there are no bookings, 1 week only earn 100 dollars. In the advert, they say can earn 2K per month...all bluff..

I regretted joining the company, worst, the staff there was impolite & rude to new comers like us. They treat us like dirt...worst company I worked...

There is this girl called Shamini, oftens scolds vulgaries and bullys newcomers without thought...

Just attended a session at Shaw House #12-08,19th July 2005, we managed to control ourselves and never signed anything. This time they offer $1000 flight vocher and free 7days accomodation and a vocher for a "free" Digital camera. I was tempted by the Digital camera with LCD display. At the end of the presentation, I was told in order to get my digital camera I need to send a cheque of $49.50 to Jue shi marketing pte ltd, this amount is to cover registered mail/hand delivery, handling, packaging, administration and insurrance cost for the camera.

I do not know what to do now.I was given 3 days to decide , to send the cheque or not.sigh..

After reading through all the mails in this forum, I decided not to send my cheque now..

The "time sharing holiday package selling at $24,000, when you want to walk away, then the "gift mgr" will come and talk to you again to offer another price at $8686 for 10yr term membership. If you still firm on your decision and walk out, they bring you to a room to claim your free diamond watch, they actually give you a post card, ask you to pay some money to cover the cost of the watch of the camera, you see, before you leave they still try to cheat your $25, so unenthical and desperate.

During the hard selling section in the room, they play very loud music, so that you can't tape down the conversation, they also don't allow you to use handphone to take picture inside.

They also use "public shaming tactic" by saying thing like :"you mean you cannot afford it?", also they will clap hand and announced when there is someone(may be their own people) in the room who has sign up the membership.

They employed mainly Chinese and Malaysian to do the presentation, was told that they make $50 per session whether can close the deal or not.

NEVER sign up any thing, DO NOT listen to their lie, I hv a colleage's friend who sign up last year, till now have not gone for a single trip. He has try to book a trip to Spain, but the company keep telling he that is fully booked, and he finally given up.

So don't let your hard earn money go into this type of scam. They are capitalising on your greed and kiasu, during the session, I actually saw people taking out credit card and sign, pity them.

Hope it will help.

If you have received the mailer, looked carefully at the details and "the clever play of words", you will find that you DID NOT ACTUALLY WIN ANYTHING. YOU WON NOTHING AT ALL!

It is simply, a lucky(or in this case an unlucky) draw ticket that wants you to go down to their office to check against the "winning numbers".

Thanks to this forum, I have just called to cancel my appointment.

My wife received a call from them, that she had won herself home theatre system + camcorder + some vouchers. She is the soft kind, so I talked to them personally (this person named Chandra). I asked some questions but his answers were lame. So that is a clue that this will be a scam. I was assured that prizes will be presented within first hour and I am free to leave after which. Fine, I set appointment to attend so as not to disappoint my wife. She then received a barrage of calls to confirm this and that.

And after day after, some called to confirm again (wonder how many times must I confirm). This time round I was told I need to sit through 2 hours of presentation (so this is inconsistent messaging, another clue of scam). The insist I commit I will attend, because they will assign "someone" to personally attend to us, I said no need personal attention, they said its a must (3rd clue of a scam in play). I look through the terms & conditions and realised I have to pay $144 for shipping just to claim my prizes! I searched the web and found this forum and rang them up to cancel appointment. They were pissed off and tried very hard to convince me, I am very sure this is a gimmick, and thanks to this forum.

Received a similar call from this Chandra chap offering the same windfall deal as described by 'Lucky 'above. He seemed to have answers to all the questions except that most of them do not add up. A very confident 'smooth talker' - so do watch it.

At the start, he said to be representing an MNC (yes!) called JS Marketing & it is a CID approved co. They are acting for a National Advertising Campaign (and that they were involved in last year's National Day campaign - what ??). "You did not see the half page advertisements we took out for a week-long campaign in Mar earlier this year !!??" in an intimidating tone. Of course no one will remember as the said national campaign did not exist.

And he also said that there was a recent news article in the New Paper about them offering the prizes - and again there was no such article.

Claimed that JS Advertising is listed as a member of NATAs but when told the NATAs website did not show so , he responded with .. "I am looking at the site everyday and you said we are not listed ??" -again intimidating tone. Later, when pressed on and realising that he is cornered; he then said the company is actually Jue Shi Marketing, but when told again that the website also did not show so, he then after a pause ...... said they are actually listed under Oriental Travel. Pulling a confident 'fast one' all the way until you tell him off point and call his bluff.

Some of his reasons were laughable - that you are required to bring your spouse along for the prize giving cos the 'Lotteries Commission of Singapore' (hehe ...what is that ???)so mandated it... this one really buay tahan!. Also that the actual prize giving will be done by a Government agency - which he did not know cos JS is just an advertising agency (suddenly Mr Know-all became so ill informed !)

When questioned who the sponsors of the prizes are, he said the prizes are courtesy of "Lotteries Commission of Singapore" which had unclaimed prizes to give away (??). His story doesn't added up - he said if you do not claim your prize it will be given to charity - you wonder why this is not done in the first case ? :-).

He is quite smooth confident talker; so for those who are uninitiated to this type of selling tactics, pse do be very careful .....

I have received similar call at 10.30 pm at night, and of course could not remember the event where the person calling stated that I have given my name and contact number.

Same letter received via email (I have given them my office email which I could then block out subsequently if needed). It also included a one-page document on the terms and conditions such as paying etc etc for processing and delivery.

After reading this forum then I realised that it is the same one which I read from the Straits Times, loud music playing etc while they try to persuade or convince you to buy something .... thanks for these postings; it helped me save my time.

ps. They also sent an SMS quoting an award code

I was also invited for the talk at Shaw house by Jue Shi Marketing cum oriental travels (both are the same company if you ask me) after being promised a 7-14 days 5 star hotel stay in Jakarta. I was planning on going there next year March and thought it was a good deal in exchange for sitting through 2 hours of talk. The person who promised the hotel stay plus a video camera and $1000 flight voucher was Ms D Chandra.

The talk started at 1pm and at 2.30pm I told them I had to go back for work since I took time off till 3pm (actually I was on half day leave). This is a very good reason to leave whenever you want to.

I did not receive any voucher for the hotel stay instead it was a cruise membership and I had to pay UK$25 (about Sing $ 75) to be a member. The flight voucher was like a summons ticket with so many condition that they were sure you would not use it.

I immediately called Ms D Chandra and told her that I did not get the items promised by her over the phone nor mentioned in the email sent by them. I told her that I will be trying my luck with the Small Claims Tribunal(SCT) and Case to see what they promised constitues a verbal contract and therefore binding. It only cost $10 to file a claim with the SCT. I also recorded what was promised just in case she tries to lie.

She told me she will rectify matter soon and call me back in 5 days time (on 27/12/05). I will wait till then to see what she does.

These people are expert liers, who do they think we are??? Nobody likes the thought of being cheated, it is about time we show them that. Someone should call the newpaper hotline and see whether their stories would get published (you will get a free handphone-no gimmicks here for sure- if the story is published). I won't be doing that cause I don't want my name on the papers.

I am a former employee of JS Advertising. I would have to agree with the other entries that this is all a scam. As a former employee, I would have first hand information on this scam. Well, we had a script that was to be followed that is how everyone sounds the same with the same questions as well as objections. Whatever is being said on the phone, it is a truck load of rubbish. Do not I repeat, DO NOT succumb yourselves to this fraud. Only those who are greedy would fall into this deadly and very costly trap. So, ensure that you are the smart one, even if they do mention that they represent a National TV Advertisement Firm as well as Oriental Travels,or mostly mentioned as O.T. Travels, DO NOT fall for it.
This is the best I can do to make sure that no one wastes their time, effort and most of all money to these conmen.

I try to call 68360757, but nobody pick up, happens to get the no from above forum this no 68369128, and a part time boy pick up, he replied that he will give my details to the redeemsion office 0n 12th jan06,
I wonder this is true or lie, but according to the boy, I will be contacted by the redeem office.
Let see and wait.
If the office still in Shaw house, maybe a CASE should pay them a visit to find out the truth.

I received a letter with the title “Take a good look at your phone”, and to summarize, the letter is saying that if my phone number matches the number printed, I will get a chance to get more prizes. My first impression is to throw this letter away, as there is no free lunch. But by mistake I casually mentioned it to my wife. And she picked the letter from the bin, and start calling. As usual, the company, in this case Jue Shi for Oriental Travel promise there will be no time-share. And my wife verified the gift, they mentioned the home theater system will be a Sony or Panasonic or DG. Not too bad, but what is DG, I asked. Oh that is a Japanese brand he said. So we fixed the appointment to listen to the sales talk.

And lucky I check the web on “Jue Shi Marketing”. Funny enough when I check the name in google, this web site (http://www.voy.com/161450/) did not show up. It is when I search on MSN, I get a chance to know about this web site. Like most Singaporean, I would not bother to write, but my wife insists so that others will be warned. According to http://www.voy.com/161450/13.html, the “Digital Video Camcorder” is a cheap 0.72 Mega pixel version and costs only A$35 and you will need to pay for S$69 for handling and warranty charges.

We were kind enough to call Jue Shi to cancel our appointment, and I mentioned to the sales guy that they have bad reputation over the net (I did not mentioned the web site), and the sales guy over the phone starts criticizing Singaporean for kiasu and complain king, and go on and on saying don’t waste such a chance to get free gifts. I was so annoyed and ask him to stop and end the conversation.

I am very tempted to write to NATAS and CCD (Commercial Crime Division), but I suppose Jue Shi is clever enough to work in the gray area of law, most of us do not loose any money (sorry for those who signed up), and some even get a small gift for the time wasted. Jue Shi cannot be prosecuted because of the sales techniques. For those who signed up under pressure, Jue Shi can claimed that everything is working under the governance of the contract, which may have been bias toward the Oriental Travel. I am hoping someone can come up with some funding to start a campaign to educate the public on this.

Same thing happened to many singaporeans.

All those guys in that oriental travel office on this day are same past 10 yrs.

God knows how ? in a country where the law forbids this type of nonsense, could these people manage to exist in the market trying and succesfully con people for so long

I also have a letter from them to recieve that cheap 35S$ camcorder wher-in we have to pay S$69 for delivery. And luckily I did not send the S$69 or else like others I also would have lost it forever. Untill now I only lost the 2 hrs time sitting there.

Hope straits time will bring it out to the knowledge of public.

Looks like Jue Shi has change the name to GreatConcepts. I received the green toned letter on Feb 7, 2006; the title is very suspicious: National Lucky Draw Notification.
This time the potential victims will receive a letter with their NRIC matched. The grand prize is a Chevrolet Aveo, or S$10,000, or 42” LCD TV, or a top range laptop computer.

Why the authority still allowing them to operate?

This is what we should do if the government would not do anything about. We should organise a massive call-in on the same few days to Jue Shi and flood their lines or a massive attendance to flood their presentation hall with disinterested people prepared with difficult and scathing questions to WEAR THEM OUT in return. And invite journalists along.

Dun worry everyone.......i went for an interview today and did my homework after that. This is clearly a scam to cheat employees and other potential victims. I'll put a stop to this soon. CASE probably isnt going to work against them. I've connections with SPH and Mediacorp, hopefully i'll be able to settle this. Keep ur fingers crossed guys!

I was an employee under JS advertising too. They promised good pay and commisions. During the training. they assured us that it wasn't timeshare.

Basically they tell us(employees) this: JS advertising is helping to promote Oriental travel. Oriental travel is a corporate travel agent and it intends to open its doors to the members of public. So we are supposed to call people who meet the criteria and tell them that Oriental travel is giving away free gifts as part of its advertising campaign. We, as telemarketers know nothing about the scams or what actually takes place during the 2hrs. (We were told registration, internet demo and gift collection, however, apparently that isn't the case)

Since it sounded so legitimate, a few of us signed the contract to be telemarketers to help promote OT. Once a few of us found out about the scam, we wanted to quit, however, if we quit we had to pay $270 for the training according to the contract.

Problem is, we found out it was a scam only after we signed the contract and we didn't want to cheat people anymore. However, we are being forced to work for at least 3 weeks before we can leave.

For me, I desperately wanted to get out and I actually made them sack me. Thank God!(Not sure if I have to pay the $270 though). But my poor colleagues are still suffering in the company. Anyone knows any way to quit(other than being sacked) without having to pay the penalty?

Ministry of Manpower says we have to adhere to the terms of the contract. But seriously, we were cheated into doing this... Can anyone out there pls advise me? My poor colleagues are suffering in that Shaw Centre office(#18-02) right as I'm posting this message now :(

Hi Anti-JSM

I was a near victim of JSM & OT and I totally despise what these guys do. Would you be willing to be a witness against them if legal action & proceedings are brought against them? If yes, please let me know. Thanks.

Hi everyone, just when I was about to look for Jue Shi's website, I came upon this bulletin board. From what my parents described is that they actually went down for one of the sessions last last Saturday, saying to give away a Chevrolet Aveo and some cold hard cash topped off with a Plasma TV, same like what Chucky described.

Upon sitting through, my dad made a good move and restricted my mum from signing up because in order to do that, you got to pay like 25k to become a lifetime member. Never mind if she does not sign up, they both received a $1000 flight voucher and a "Ultimate Freedom" accommodation voucher.

I want to ask anyone, are these vouchers valid in the first place at all or have anyone fallen into the trap of using these?

I just went there last Friday.... With loud music where I did inform the senior manager (if not mistaken his name is Darren) to lower down the music and U know wat he said to us, he said all this time is OK, no complains from the customer...Really the last 3 hrs I was there, it is full of craps and nonsenses.

Lucky did not signed for the packages which cost almost S$ 26K... and later down the packages for 10 yr membership at S$ 6,250....

I suggest those who got calls from this guys... DON'T WASTE YR TIME....

Thanks goodness that I found this forum before my hubby want to mail a cheque of S$ 69.00 in order to get the camcorder.
