In reply to: ccn666 's message, "LGM Timeshare scam" on Mon, Nov 10 2003, 3:06:30

My mother & I were led to believe that the Concepts Programmes Rewards Scheme provided by Leisure Group Marketing (LGM) was going to be the only way that we could get back the initial money we had paid for our CVC membership (not used ever!) - through a 5yr 100% Cash Back Scheme Guaranteed by the FTSE 100 Index.

The meeting with their 'Business Development Manager' - Ram - took place on Sunday 9 Nov 2003. We were told that LGM would very likly be raising their membership fees to Euro550 SOON. The only way to avoid paying this increase of fees (from current fees of SGD$150) was to upgrade to a 'Business membership' from a 'Family membership' by topping up S$15,000 (total purchase price of S$50,000) and then taking part in the Cash Back scheme. With this Business membership, we then had to pay S$250 ONLY when we travelled and yet remained lifetime members. Too good to be true? YES! After doing my research on the Internet regarding this company and their many schemes!

We were led to believe that we had to make a decision to join on that very day. In fact, we were told by Ram that we were the very last members who were being offered this programme. Desperate for an avenue to regain our initial investment, we gave LGM the benefit of the doubt and paid a deposit of 30% via credit card. The remaining amt was to be paid up on 22 Nov 2003.

Today is 11 Nov 2003. If the recommended clause by CASE pertaining to termination of contract within 3 days was not included in our agreement, what is the best course of action we can take to cancel this latest purchase agreement? Please help!

Our route to becoming members of the LGM CVC is very similar to Choon Nam's. We would be interested to take part in fighting LGM to try and get back our money.
