I just stumbled upon this website early this week. I did a search on Google to find out some information regarding "LGM complaints". I've been seeking information from LGM regarding the transfer of the exchange company from RCI to II but no replies was forecoming from LGM. I joined or purchase the timeshare for Australia more than 2 years ago. By the way, I've finished paying up my membership and received my certificate around October last year. It is terrible to be reading all the posting here regarding the scam. By the way, as I'm not a Singaporean and not living in Singapore, I wasn't aware of all this problems. I was on holiday in Singapore and chance upon LGM in Orchard road and was dupe into buying the timeshare. Thinking that Singapore is very safe, there wouldn't be any problems with cheating. I was shown the company registrar and the management told me that being located in the esteem Nee Ah City Towers (not sure of the spelling here), they were subjected to the normal inspection before they can set up a shop and wouldn't have a bad reputation. Anyway, to cut the long story short, I've paid up my full fees, got my certificate and paid up my 1st year maintenance fee. Haven't used my week yet (so I'm still entitled for the 1 week I've paid from the maintenance fee). I don't know what to do at the moment and I'm lost as well. Being so far from Singapore, I only contact LGM via email. Should I sell off my timeshare membership to avoid paying a raising maintenance fee? What can I do? Also, are there any legal issues controling the maintenance fee raise? I was told during the product presentation that we have rights as members to ask and question all maintenance issues of the resort because, in a way we sort of own a share of the resort. Date Posted: Sun, Mar 20 2005, 20:46:13 I only knew of this forum today when I surfed for info about Oriental Travel Pte Ltd. My husband and I are also victims of this LGM scam. We had paid $$$ and had even received the Concepts Programme Certificate which promises cashback 5 years later. Sometime ago, a Mr Michael Seet approached us at my doorstep and said he was trying to help us to convert our timeshare. As we had been trying to sell we listened to him and thus became victims. I'm very upset so please keep me informed of any actions that are being taken. I'm surprised that LGM can continue to operate for so many years. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
