Channel U has commissioned a programme about timeshare. Do you think it'll help if the victims gather together to tell their stories?

It is definitely a good sign of public awakening. I think more and more people ought to know what is happening in our society - how innocent people are enticed to join holiday clubs and enticed to part with their savings and inherit a big headache in the process. People must realise the true nature of such a business entity which are mostly foreign owned. If u get greedy and impulsive then u have to pay for it. Nothing is free in this world after all! If u want to test the luck of the draw then be prepared to face certain consequences. Channel U will be doing a great public service by publicising the plight of those victims who have fallen into the trap so that people become wary when they get similar offers in future. Those who have fallen victims should also not shy away from the publicity but look at it from a positive angle. Expose these people who have taken away your hard-earned money and at the same time warn others of such scams. Slowly but surely the authorities would realise the gravity of the problem at a time when every penny saved is an insurance for your future well-being not to be squandered at something called timeshare or 'vacation ownership'. Give me a name of a holiday club or timeshare marketing company in Singapore that is beyond reproach in the way they market their holiday product! I rest my case.....

George, how did the interview go? Do you think they will interview LGM as well? Did they interview the LGM victims group too?

Saw the CHannel U feature on timeshare today 5Oct05 (9.30pm scoop). The reporter highlighted all that we have personally experienced. I hope that certain people will take notice and take action against these unscrupulous crooks.

THey are conning so many people and yet no firm action is taking place. Perhaps if they (The timeshare companies) sue the media, (like NKF) which I dare them , they will screw themselves (like NKF).

Sadly, I feel that there is no conclusion from the show... the conclusion from CASE is bullshit... time sharing company uses some pyshco tactics that most consumers will fall into the trap... and CASE is aware of this... all they can advice in conclusion is that think before signing on the line...

In singapore, who do not like to travel... younger generation ppl start travelling at very young age... Singapore is so small that everyone likes to break away from the city for awhile... that is why we buy in into their ideas but what they are promoting is not the way it is.... their method is so foolproof that once we buy the idea, we are caught...

and that is the reason why we need CASE to help to get us out of it... but yet CASE reply the only way to get out of it, is not be in the situation at the 1st place...

based on all the feedback here... all i can see is that CASE is useless... they can only help to write letter here and there but no authority to put a full stop to time sharing...
