輾‧我——許雅舒的錄像裝置
兩千三百萬年的前戲——翁炎華的在地作品

踏入二十一世紀，性別偏見依舊是我們城市習以為常的普遍現象。當代藝術卻總不忘提醒我們這些漏習。由2003年10月31日至11月23日，於上環的Para/Site藝術空間將展出許雅舒及翁炎華的作品，以藝術創作探討性別與人物關係的作品。

許雅舒是本地錄像藝術家，作品曾見於國際上之影展。《輾．我》以裝置形式透過四個不同大小的顯示屏表達，作品靈感源自對一位親暱的水女死去的聯想。錄像中可見女子垂死的影像及身體的特寫，可重塑記憶、自我及女性形像的意義。

香港出生，殖根三藩市的翁炎華一直以錄象、雕塑及裝置等多種媒體從事藝術創作。其前作曾展示了英雄主義沒落的傷感，而在Para/Site藝術空間的新作《兩千三百萬年的前戲》，緣於他對喀什米爾濕婆教派(Kashmir Shivaism)的興趣。喀什米爾濕婆教派是一古老的印度哲學，當中濕婆(Shiva) 亦即毀滅之神，是超越性別界限的神明，並不縛於「他、她、它」的論述。翁炎華由此概念出發，用發泡膠與封箱貼紙搭建出一個微觀的宇宙體系，象徵人類與生俱來的精神面貌的各種可能性。

兩位藝術家將於11月1日（星期六）下午3時至5時，在展覽現場舉行公開講座。
