I agree with you. I had an 85% wolf. She killed 4 cats, 1 puppy, 2 turkeys, and a full-grown deer, whom she was all raised around since she was a pup, so that idea of "they'll get along with everything" is a lie. She never showed any aggression towards them in front of me, but as soon as I turned my back-I had another dead critter on my hands. Instincts will take over regardless of training. I kept her in a 6'foot high privacy fence that also went into the ground to prevent her from digging-guess what, she jumped it. They are IMPOSSIBLE to contain, they will never be content-they have to be with you 24/7. She did something else while I owned her that just blew everyones minds...I had to board her at my vet clinic for 3 days, I told them she could get out of anything so to keep a good eye on her, they were keeping her in an outside kennel with a 6ft fence, she jumped it and ran home to my house 2miles away. The animal control found her at my house and brought her back to the vet clinic. That night she was put in an inside kennel behind locked doors, she chewed and scratched at her kennel until she busted out-she went through 1 door which brought her into the lobby-she destroyed everything-blinds, furniture, you name it and then she escaped out of the front door and made it back home once again. Needless to say, I did not pay my board since my dog wasn't even there half of the time. These animals are too smart for any average dog owner. Everyone thinks it'll be a great time to own one of these wolfdogs and don't understand what they are getting themselves into. She was very timid, killed everything, and could not be left alone. So please think twice before you buy one of these animals. Her life ended on November 2, 2005 when she escaped from a chain and a 6ft fence and got hit by a car.
