Date Posted: 21:20:34 07/18/06 Tue  Nearly 700 years ago, the Crusades were ended. The Templar Knights, powerful warrior monks that had faithfully served God and man, were hunted down and killed for false accusations of heresy. Many died, others fled to other regions to escape persecution, and some simply disappeared, never to be seen again. But more mysterious still.. many Templars that had been reported dead by some strange, incurable illness were suddenly walking in the land of the living once more. These resurrected men had terrifying abilities and a thirst for blood -literally- that was unquenchable. The revenants -or vampires, as we would call them- banded together and became strong, and have dispersed throughout the world, building up their own form of government and control, obeying no laws but their own.They call themselves Darkyn. In present day Chicago, many different groups of the Darkyn have gathered together, each controlling a part of the city. Though on semi-friendly terms, there is definitely tension between them, and no one knows how long the peace will last. Only a select few know of these immortal creatures' existence, and they must wait in anticipation along with their Darkyn masters to see what will happen. As many humans as possible are being turned, but only a select few will pass the requirements, and fewer still will survive the dangerous turning process. Where do you stand in all this? The Darkyn want power. Or more precisely, they want to be more powerful than the other groups - called jardins. As the old warriors they are, they believe in strength in numbers, and want as many in their jardin as possible. If you are Darkyn, which jardin will you join? Or better yet - which one will accept you? If you are human, will you be left to your life, or will a dark, mysterious force compel you to a group of monsters with razor sharp fangs and horrifying abilities?
