Anyone around from class of January 1947. Most of us went on to Tilden High School. Only about 6 of us went to Richmond Hill High School because Tilden was filled up. I remember Phyllis Carasoto, Stella Mazzario, Dorothy Schroeder, Eleanor Fiattarone, and I went to Richmond Hill High School, graduated from there in January 1951. Would love to trade stories about some of the old teachers, Mrs. Last, Mrs. Canale, Mrs. Markowitz from PS 114.

the maypole, the victory garden. cooking with Ms. benton, she was so strict. music with ms. flitcroft, (to a rose, to a rose, to a wild rose, written by mcdonald). ms. leslie, mr. emma.
my sisters were margaret, rosalie, the valentis, we live down the back on 84st. and later on flatlands ave.
and 86 st.
remember our lady of miracles church, I was married there, and my children went to school there and were married there also. I left canarsie in 1989, and now live in new jersey.
boy, do I miss those good old days.

Mr: Goldberg was my 6 grade teacher (1975). I have a memory of him screming out " WHO DROPPED THERE TEETH " when ever something loud disturbed the class via being dropped on the floor. Does anybody remember him doing this ?

Ok ... where is everyone that was in Canarsie and attending PS 114 in the 50's???
I was in the graduating class of 1953 then went on to SJ Tilden like most of the grads did at that time.
I lived at 956 East 93rd St. between Foster and Farragut. Married a Canarsie girl (Gail nee Casey) who lived at 9213 Farragut Rd near the corner of East 92nd St. I can list name upon name of folks that we knew but then I am sure I would miss a few and P-ss them off so, if you remember either Gail or me ... please drop us and e-mail.
We lost track with everyone when I went in the Navy and Gail moved to Smithtown. Please e-mailEasyEd62@hotmail.com.
We are now retired and living in North Carolina, further removing us for our old Canarsie roots. Again ... drop and line and lets talk old times.

Anyone interested in attending a double Canarsie HS/South Shore HS reunion?
The idea is to make it a jumbo reunion for the ultra good-looking and cool classes of 1982 - 1986, as we all have extremely busy lives. (Inclusion of 1981 & up to 1988 is also an option).
Plus, our neighborhood didn't promote the best school spirit, so this way we can guarantee at least 200 - 300 people attending.
Tables can be set up according to HS & graduating year.
Those who didn't graduate CHS or SSHS for whatever reason(but who would have in those years) are also invited.

If the response rate is decent, I'll seriously start planning this for a Saturday night, either in January, 2005, or July, 2005.
This way, some of you have some time to lose 20 pounds,
work out, get lipo and hair transplants:-)
This reunion concept depends on the feedback I get.
We'll have it somewhere nice, either in NYC (either a hotel ballroom like the Hilton, Marriott or Sheraton, or a cool lounge-type place like Metronome).

Does anyone remember Cathy Smith or know where she is? She went to 114 during the 70's. Her mother Fran used to work as an aide at the school. I am an old friend of hers and would like to find her. Any info would be appreciated.
