Shoot to clip of Tara standing in the window, blood covered. She looks to Willow. TARA: Your Shirt... Shoot to clip of Willow all dark and veiny killing Warren. WILLOW: Bored Now.... Warren is skinned. Shoot to Grave, Willow standing on king mans bluff, shooting magic into Proserpexa’s temple. XANDER: Hey there black eyed girl... Shoot to Buffy and Dawn fighting in the grave as the demons attack. Dawn gets her fast move in. DAWN: What, do you think I never watched you? Shoot to Buffy and Dawn in grave again. BUFFY: I don’t want to shield you from the world, I want to show it to you... Shoot to Anya and Giles walking out of the magic box together. Shoot to Spike having his soul returned. Teaser: Scene exterior magic box. Giles and Anya exit together. They turn and look at the burnt mess of the magic box. GILES: Well, I certainly hope that our commercial insurance will cover this... ANYA: Somebody better. So, it really was Xander? The two sit on the ground in front of the magic box. GILES: Yes Anya, Xander saved the world. ANYA: Well...its about time he did something right. Shoot to Buffy and dawn walking around the corner. The two look exhausted. BUFFY: Giles! Oh my God, you’re alive! Buffy rushes to Giles, embracing him. He groans in pain. BUFFY: Sorry. I didn’t mean to- GILES: No, I’m quite happy to see you myself. Buffy sits next to Giles. Her head on his shoulder. Anya sits down as well, noticing Buffy has her head on Giles’ shoulder, Anya repeats this move. DAWN: Guys? GILES: Yes Dawn? DAWN: Where’s Xander? Buffy looks at Giles as Anya does the same. Eventually all three look at dawn. GILES: I’m sure he’s alive, I could feel it. BUFFY: We have to find him, there is not telling what state of mind that Willow is in, if she is even- GILES: She’s alive as well, but I don’t know what is to be expected. Camera shoot to exterior king mans bluff. Willow and Xander are sitting atop it. Willow is crying silently into Xander’s arms. XANDER: Shh....Shh....It’s ok, It’s ok. I love you Will, It’ll be alright, I’m here for you. WILLOW (silently): Don’t Kill me...please God, don’t take me. Make it stop. Xander strokes willows hair. XANDER: Its over now Will, It’s over, you’re going to be alright. It’s all going to be alright. WILLOW: Never again Xander. I’m sorry...please don’t, don’t let her kill me. I don’t want to die. XANDER: Who Willow? Who is going to kill you? WILLOW (tears streaming down her face): Buffy! Don’t let her, please I’m sorry, so, so sorry. Everything I did, is - XANDER: Done. Everything you did is done, its over Will. It’s going to be alright. Willow looks down at the ground and then straight into the camera. Her eyes are black. WILLOW: No Xander, it will never be alright again. End Teaser Shoot to Intro ACT ONE- Scene A Scene open on exterior Kingmans Bluff. Camera pan to show Xander sitting on bluff with willow. Willow turns and looks at Xander with Black Eyes. She stands, causing Xander to rise and back away from her. DARK WILLOW: You may have slowed me down, but you wont stop me... XANDER: Willow Stop! You can control this. DARK WILLOW: Sorry Xander, can’t stay and chat - I ....I... Willow starts to become visibly weak. She looks at Xander as her eyes return to normal. WILLOW: Xander I....I’m so sorry!!! God, maybe I should be dead. That’s what it feels like, like I’m gone. XANDER: Willow, we will get you help. I love you, nothing is going to happen to you. Willow falls into Xander’s arms again. The two sink to the ground. She is panting heavily as she closes her eyes. Xander continues to stroke her hair. Camera elapse time to later. The sun has reached its high point. It is clearly afternoon. Xander is still holding Willow. She is asleep. Xander picks her up and walks down the hill as Buffy, Dawn, Giles and Anya come up the other side. DAWN: Its all burnt... BUFFY: Giles... GILES: I can’t tell anymore, the power is gone. I don’t...I don’t know. ANYA: Xander has to be alive. DAWN: What? ANYA: He just does. He can’t be... BUFFY: We’ll find him. The gang turns to reveal Proserpexas temple. DAWN: What do we do about this? ANYA: Now that the spell is over....who knows, who cares. Maybe it will just go away. BUFFY: Right now, that’s the last thing on my mind. GILES: Buffy, we are all very tired. If Xander had helped Willow, where do you think he would take her? BUFFY: The house. The three start back down the hill. As they leave the camera pans around the burnt ground and the top of Proserpexa’s temple standing tall. A loud scream is heard from the inside. Scene B Scene open exterior Main Sunnydale street. Buffy, Giles, Dawn and Anya are walking down it. BUFFY: So, we get home, and then what? GILES: I honestly don’t know. The only thing we know for sure is, Willow, well the one we know is gone for good. She will never be the same. BUFFY: I know. DAWN: She can get better right? ANYA: It’s not that, what those two are saying is that Willow has killed a human, you aren’t the same after you’ve killed a human. Never. When I was a vengance demon I- Anya stops in mid sentence. Camera pan around to reveal the gang standing in front of the magic box. Anya walks closer and closer to it. ANYA: I was just here, and I didn’t realize....Its gone, all of it. What I’ve worked so hard for, its all gone. GILES: Anya... ANYA: No, its gone Giles. BUFFY: We have to get back to the house. ANYA: We can’t just leave it like this. BUFFY: Anya - DAWN: Anya, do you want to maybe get a few things to take home with you? ANYA: Yes. Please Buffy. Buffy takes in the scene of the magic box for a second. She looks at Giles and then back to Anya. BUFFY: Yeah, go ahead, Dawn you go too, I have to talk to Giles for a second anyway. DAWN: Cool, come on Anya. BUFFY: Be careful guys, its not entirely safe. DAWN: We will. Dawn and Anya walk into the magic box. Buffy and Giles sit on the sidewalk in front of the magic box. BUFFY: So... GILES: So... BUFFY: Tell me the truth. What’s gonna happen to her? GILES: I honestly don’t know. BUFFY: What are we gonna do Giles? GILES: After having spoken with the coven, the believe it is imperative that Willow returns to England with me. BUFFY: and then what? GILES: They will try to teach her to harness her powers. You see, even though her big charge is gone, she is still one of the most, if not the most powerful living witch. She is still capable of quite a bit, even if it is ending the world. BUFFY: But is she? You know..back to being Willow? GILES: Only time can tell... Buffy makes a sniffle noise as a tear rolls down her cheek. BUFFY: I am so angry and so happy at the same time. I just want to hug her and slap her, I can’t comprehend fully what is going on. GILES: But you have to be strong. You can’t treat her as if nothing has happened. If you do, there is not telling what will happen. BUFFY: Ok, I get it, strong one here. I want her back Giles, I want Willow to be back to normal. GILES: I don’t think you’ll ever get the same Willow back Buffy...but there is one thing I know. I will try my best, no matter what it takes to get her back to you, safely and better. Scene C Camera shoot to interior Magic Box. Dawn and Anya are inside gathering items around the store. Anya is stationed at the cash register clearing it out. Creaks of boards are heard inside. DAWN: So what are we getting? ANYA: Anything of value. DAWN: which is? ANYA: Everything! Dawn rolls her eyes and walks over to the books to reveal that they are drained. DAWN: She did a number on the books huh? ANYA: Yes, and she sure did. Maybe she can get in line behind you to learn about punitive damages. DAWN: Anya - ANYA: I know, I know, Willow is sick an- DAWN: No, Anya, do you hear that? ANYA: hear what? A noise is heard from the back room. ANYA: The sign says closed! DAWN: Lets check it out... The two walk towards the training room. They enter the room. SceneD Anya and Dawn enter to see eight people sitting in the room. They each look very pale and severely tired. ANYA: Can I help you? A woman stands and walks to Anya and Dawn who are a little taken back. WOMAN: Who did it? DAWN: Did what? WOMAN: Who killed Rack? The rest of the followers remain quiet, they seem to be in deep meditation. ANYA: Why do you want to know? WOMAN: He was our supplier, he gave us life, we want to kill the one who took his. DAWN: Buffy!!!!! WOMAN: Buffy? ANYA: No, she didn’t mean Buffy did it, she is calling Buffy in here to kick your ass. WOMAN: Really? The woman’s eyes turn black. The followers begin chanting louder and louder. WOMAN: I speak for everyone here, when I say that isn’t gonna happ- A foot flies into the woman’s face. She falls into the group. The chanting stops as the people all fall to the floor. WOMAN: NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Camera turn to reveal Buffy standing next to Dawn. BUFFY: I’ve had enough of dark eyed, loud mouth witches today! WOMAN: I was their link, the link was severed. BUFFY: And that means... WOMAN: These people are weak, they cannot think for themselves. Rack is gone...the only one who saw the way. BUFFY: You know, Before this turns into a bad after school special about the dangers of drugs...I mean magic, why don’t you all just go. The followers, being left no choice, stand and walk away. The gang returns to the interior magic box main room. WOMAN: This isn’t over. BUFFY: Racks dead....pretty sure that’s a good sign. The followers exit. BUFFY (to Anya): Did you get what you need? ANYA(holding cash): YEP! The group exits the magic box. Buffy stops them at the door. BUFFY: When we get home, don’t give into her. Be strong, Dawn I mean it. DAWN: I will, don’t worry, I’m not much for sentiment right now. The gang exits the magic box as the door closes. Scene E Camera shoot to interior Summers Home. Buffy, Dawn, Anya and Giles enter. Willow is laying on the couch. Xander is wiping sweat from her head. XANDER: Hey Guys. BUFFY: Are you alright? XANDER: Yeah, pretty shook up, but I’m fine. Buffy looks over at Willow. BUFFY (coldly): Is she alright? XANDER: I don’t know. She was fine and then she went all dark for a second and now she is fine again, well sorta asleep, but fine. DAWN: Is she conscious? Giles walks over to Willow. He touches her forehead and opens her eyes. GILES: Yes, Understandably tired, and hopefully weak. XANDER: Uh - I got a call while you guys were gone. Xander stands up and walks over to the door way connecting the living room and the foyer. XANDER: We should go in here and talk about it. The gang looks at Xander curiously and then they all walk into the dinning room. XANDER: Mr. McClay called. DAWN (tearfully): Tara... Buffy puts her arm around Dawn. BUFFY: And... Xander: They have arranged a funeral for Tara already. Giles: Already? She died yesterday. Xander: Yeah, I know. They said that they weren’t going to make a big deal out of it. Not with attention nor with money. Dawn: How so? Xander: Mr. McClay has arranged the cheapest funeral anyone has ever heard of. Tara’s casket is a step up from a pine box. There will be no priest, flowers, or headstone for Tara. Giles: Not while I’m alive. Dawn: Huh? GILES: Tara was truly one of the best of us, she risked her life to fight the fight. She will have a funeral, with a priest, and flowers and a headstone. I will pay for any items that are necessary. DAWN: and what about the McClays? GILES: I doubt that Mr. McClay would like to protest me right now. BUFFY: Are you sure you want to? GILES: Tara was one of our family. She is not to be thrown in a box and buried. XANDER: I can build a casket. It wont be the best, but its better than what they have gotten for her. The gang notices Anya standing in a corner looking out the window. She seems melancholy. Dawn walks over to her. DAWN: Anya? You alright? Anya sniffles, a tear on her face. ANYA: No. All this death, all this destruction. Willow did all this because she loved Tara so much. She loved her so much that she was willing to destroy the world. All of this, this pain was for her. DAWN: It’s not that Anya its - ANYA: It is that Dawn. No one has ever loved me so. No one would ever destroy the world in my name. Xander walks over to Anya XANDER: Ahn - ANYA: Leave me alone Harris! Anya storms up the stairs. We hear a door slam. BUFFY: She’ll be fine. We have bigger problems. DAWN: Like? A voice rings out from the other room. The gang turns around to reveal their shocked faces. Camera turn to ground in living room and pan up to see Willow floating in the living room, her hair and eyes black. WILLOW: Me! *****Commercial******* Windex, makes it shine!!!!****** Camera back on the group. Buffy stands forward. BUFFY: Willow. DARK WILLOW: Oh come on Buffy, admit it. You want to kill me. BUFFY: I’m not going to kill my friend Willow. DARK WILLOW: Oh you expect me to believe that? DAWN: Believe her Willow, you need to stop this! DARK WILLOW: Oh Dawny, I was going to turn you back into a blob of energy, but I think you’re a better annoyance, and punishment for the group when your still a little girl. Anya walks down the stairs, not noticing Willow standing behind her. ANYA: Who is going to fix that window, cause the bullet took all of the glass out. I managed to clean most of the blood off- XANDER: Ahn...shh....Don’t say anything. ANYA: Why? Xander points behind her, she turns around to reveal Willow. DARK WILLOW: Blood? ANYA: I uh- hey! Willow, your home! Lets go get something to drink! DARK WILLOW: Tara..... XANDER: Willow, calm down. Its ok, Tara is gone, they took her away, she isn’t here. DARK WILLOW: Gone....NOOOO!!! Bursts and crackles of lightening fly out of Willow, the gang hits the floor. The lightening hits windows and shatters them. Willow stops shooting off, her hair returns to red and she falls to the floor. WILLOW: I’m....I’m so sorry. Please don’t kill me Buffy! Buffy looks to Giles. He gives a slight nod. Buffy looks over to Dawn and then straight back to Willow. BUFFY (coldly): Get up. WILLOW: I can’t...I can’t get up. I’m not strong enough. BUFFY (very coldly): Get up, or get out. Willow staggers to her feet. She leans on the wall. She is streaming black tears as her eyes are changing from black to normal rapidly. BUFFY: You hurt us. You hurt our family. You tried to take my sister from me. Our friend was taken from the world. Tara is gone and all you could think of was yourself. Willow begins to sink to the floor in tears. BUFFY (demanding): I said stand up. Willow staggers up to the wall again, we can hear her crying out loud. BUFFY: You tried to destroy the world, the one thing you once swore to protect. You tried to kill all of us, including Giles who came here to help you. Willow what you did is unforgettable. You will leave on the next flight to England with Giles. He is taking you back to the coven. They will do what they will with you. If you want to live, you’ll go. If you stay here Willow, I can’t guarantee that you’re gonna live. Do you understand me? WILLOW: Buffy.....I’m so.....please.....do- do - please... I can’t....forgi- BUFFY: I am done Willow. I am done talking and I’m done listening. Pack what you need and go with Giles. Buffy turns walks up the stairs. Another door slams upstairs. Dawn walks over to Willow. DAWN: When you get back, you better be alright. Because if you ever, ever try this again, I will kill you myself. Dawn walks up the stairs and yet another door slam is heard. Willow turns to Xander. WILLOW: Xander....please..... Xander looks at Giles who gives him a “do what I say” look. XANDER: Sorry Will, you’ve gotta go. Xander walks out of the living room. Willow turns to Anya. ANYA(to herself): don’t be scared...don’t be scared.........(out loud) Punitive damages! Anya runs out of the room. Willow turns to Giles. WILLOW: this is all your fault. GILES: don’t Willow, do not point the finger. WILLOW: Hecate....sister in the heavens, mother on earth.... GILES: do that spell, and there will be no help for you. WILLOW: Oh God Giles...Help me! Willow turns to the door. She tries to grab the knob. The knob crackles as she touches it. It shocks Willow. WILLOW: I have to get out of here. GILES: Willow, calm down. WILLOW(screaming with tears): OH GOD, HELP ME!!!!! Camera pans around slowly to see the rest of the gang hiding from view by the stairs. They all watch with sad faces. XANDER (quietly): I have to do something... BUFFY (quietly): No! We have to be strong, Giles knows...let him do it. Camera shoot back to Willow and Giles. Willow is hysterical with tears and emotions. Her hair begins changing from black to normal as does her eyes. WILLOW: Giles, kill me! Please god, kill me!!! GILES: I’m not going to do that Willow. WILLOW: Then I’ll kill you! Willow turns on Giles slamming him to the floor. She jumps on top of him hitting him. Finally she falls to the ground, not realizing what she has just done. WILLOW: Make it stop!!! GILES: Willow, calm down! WILLOW: Kill me you bastard, take a knife and shove it in my chest, make it stop! GILES: Make what stop? WILLOW: My heartache, make it go away! Giles takes Willows arm, he takes out a needle and injects Willow with it. WILLOW: What is that you moron?! GILES: Something to help the pain. Willow stands, her hair fully dark and eyes as well. WILLOW: You ass, how dare you!!! Dark clouds begin circling Willow. DARK WILLOW: I’ll make it so that you can’t inje- inject....any.... Willow falls to the ground. She is asleep. The rest of the gang walks in. DAWN: What was that? ANYA: and will it keep her out long? GILES: It was a sedative, she will be out for a while. We need to go. BUFFY: But Tara... GILES: Here... Giles takes out his wallet, handing Buffy a credit card. GILES: There is not limit....use it as you need it. Pay for everything you need with it. I need to take Willow back to England, she is not stable, she will not be able to stay. DAWN: but.. GILES: No buts Dawn! I’m sorry to shout, but Willow is not doing as well as I expected, she is worse. We may be losing her. The gang looks over to reveal Willow laying on the floor asleep, panting to breathe, her hair is back to normal. Xander is stroking Willows hair. XANDER: I need to take a walk. Xander rises and walks over to the door. He opens it and leaves. Buffy follows him, she stops at the door. BUFFY: I am going with Xander, you guys stay here and pack some stuff for Willow to take to England. Buffy exits as Giles closes the door. Scene F Xander walks down the street. Xander holds his hands at his sides. The song “In the arms of the Angel” is being played. No other audio is heard. Xander continues to walk. Camera shoot to Xanders left hand. Another hand takes his. Camera pan out to reveal Buffy holding his hand. The two exchange a small smile and walk hand and hand down the street. Scene G Camera elapse time to reveal Buffy and Xander at the top of King Mans Bluff. The two stand looking out over the town. They sit on the edge of the ground. Finally Buffy breaks the silence. BUFFY (quietly): How are you? XANDER: Been better. BUFFY: Xander, what is happening with Willow...It... XANDER(interrupting): What if I hadn’t of been there? BUFFY: Huh? XANDER: On this cliff, what if I hadn’t of been there when she was. Our best friend would have ended the world. Buffy our best friend could have just killed us and herself. BUFFY: But you were here Xander. Deep down, you were meant to end this. Xander stands up, he has finally broken down. XANDER: Bull! Buffy, what would you have done? Huh? If it was you up here, would you have killed her? BUFFY: I don’t know.. XANDER: Yes you do! You know what you would have done, you would have killed Willow! BUFFY: I would have done what I had to do! XANDER: By killing her? Buffy stands, she is in tears as well, they both have finally broken down. BUFFY: Xander, do you know what a slayer is?! XANDER: So you were going to kill her! BUFFY: Never! I would have let the world ended before I would have killed her! Is that what you wanted to hear?!? XANDER: No! I want it over! Is that so hard to ask? Buffy is now in complete tears, she is screaming. BUFFY: Is that all you see me as? A slayer?! XANDER: No, I ju- BUFFY(crying): You just what Xander? Thought that since I was a slayer, that I would have killed my best friend? XANDER: No, I ju- BUFFY: You what? You just what Xander? Xander has tears pouring from his eyes, he screams to Buffy. XANDER: I just want my Willow back! The phrase causes Xander to realize exactly what has happened. Buffy runs over to Xander. Xander collapses in her arms. He is crying, as well as she. XANDER(crying, quietly): I just want my Willow back...I want her back....I want my Willow back. BUFFY(crying): Me too...shh...its ok, Giles will fix her... Suddenly the ground begins to shake, Proserpexa’s temple begins to let out a scream. Buffy and Xander jump up. The temple begins to sink into the ground. XANDER: What’s happening? BUFFY: I don’t know! The sinking ground spreads further and further out until the ground weakens where Buffy is standing. She falls as Xander grabs her hand. Camera shoot to reveal Buffys POV, we see fires down below and screaming demons. BUFFY: Don’t let go! XANDER: I wont, I’m not gonna lose my other best friend. Xander pulls Buffy back up, the two collapse on the ground together. They rise to reveal the temple fully submerged in the earth until the ground seals the temple back in. XANDER: Its gone... Buffy walks over to the area where the temple once stood. We see that the tip if the temple is sticking out of the ground. Buffy spin kicks it off. She repeats the kicking motion over and over destroying the tip. BUFFY: Why Willow! Why?!? Damn it Willow! XANDER: Buff... BUFFY: Why!!!??? First Mom, and then Tara, not you! XANDER: Its ok, Buff, come on... Buffy begins screaming and crying. BUFFY: Your stupid Willow, just a stupid girl!!! Damn it!!!!!! Xander grabs Buffy as she collapses into Xanders arms. Anya sits on the chair drinking from a mug. It is so quiet we can hear the clock ticking. The doorbell rings. ANYA, GILES, DAWN: I’ll get it! The three race for the door. The open it to reveal Mr. McClay standing at the door. GILES: Mr. McClay MR. MCCLAY: Mr. Giles. DAWN: Mr. McClay? Giles you said that a visitor was coming, you never said that it was an ass- ANYA(overlapping): Hole. They all look at her. ANYA: In my jeans, there is a hole in my jeans. Well there is my excuse, what’s Dawns? They all look at Dawn. DAWN: Ass.....pect of Tara’s life that she didn’t want involved in it. MR. MCCLAY: Maybe little girls should stay out of where they aren’t needed. GILES: Mr. McClay! We should go into the kitchen and chat. Giles and Mr. McClay exit. Camera pan to reveal Spike crouching away from the thing infront of him. He is breathing heavily, his hair messed up and he is looking bloody, it is apparent that he has just had his soul returned to him. SPIKE: Who....are....you? Shoot back to the Mayor. THE MAYOR: Me? Oh Heck, I guess I should reintroduce myself, I’m the mayor of Sunnydale-former. You don’t remember me Spike? Let me tell you a little story, back in the 1950's there was a young blonde chap, you, walking down a street in Sunnydale. You tripped, fell and twisted an ankle. I happened to be walking down the street one day and helped you up. You turned on me, at which point some of my fella’s messed you up and sent you along your way. Its actually a funny story. Surprised you don’t remem- SPIKE: No...really....Who are you? The Mayor morphs into Spike. MORPHY SPIKE: I’m anything I want to be mate. I can be as strong as a bull, with the beauty of a God....The cunning of a vampress and the knowledge of a demon political official. I can be weak...and pathetic..just like you Spike....and more importantly.... Camera shoot to Spike. He has a shocked Face. He backs away. Camera turn to reveal a pair of legs standing before him. Camera pan out to Reveal Buffy standing before him. BUFFY (Continuing): I can be her. The one you want. SPIKE: leave me alone! BUFFY: Oh no Spike...I’ll never do that. You went and got a soul, this is what this about. Two slayers....two souled vampires....Trying to tip the scales Spike? SPIKE: What? BUFFY: hmm...he acts as if he doesn’t know....We’ll see about that. I’ll hang around for a while to make sure you see what you are, what you are to become. SPIKE: What are you?! BUFFY: You’re not ready. Not nearly. I’ll be sure to tell you when you are... SPIKE: It burns! BUFFY: What? The soul? SPIKE: Yes! BUFFY: Oh I bet it does, then why did you do it? SPIKE: For you, her! BUFFY: I don’t care...I’m a slayer, you’re a vampire, a tool I used in my little games. SPIKE: Stop... BUFFY: You’re not ready, not nearly enough...not crazy enough...but I’ll fix that. SPIKE: no... Buffy Morphs back into Glory GLORY: Don’t deny it sweetie, pain is coming. Might as well be fashionable about it. I mean, pick a good outfit and all. Its going to open, not right now, but soon. Then that mere portal I opened is gonna be nothing compared to the explosion that is gonna rock their worlds. Its sorta...oh what’s the word.... Glory Morphs into Drusilla once again. DRUSILLA: Poetic? Don’t be scared my boi, I’ll see that you are taken care of...my sweet Spoike. My king of cups in the stars....naughty, naughty words that haunt your mind...like spiders crawling on your brain....soon, those spiders....will turn to snakes and wiggle around in your mind, making you just as me....insane. SPIKE: NOO!!! Scene J Camera shoot to exterior Summers home. It is night time. We see Giles and Buffy and Xander sitting on the front porch. GILES: At least four months. BUFFY: Is that going to be long enough? I mean, I don’t want Willow gone, but when she comes back, I want her...you know....to be back. XANDER: I have to go with Buffy, I want Willow here more than anyone else, but I don’t want her coming back if she is still sick. GILES: That is why I say at least. It could be longer, and it could be sooner. The truth is that very few witches come back to the forces of good after they have gone dark. Willow has gone darker than any witch ever has. We just don’t know. BUFFY: I heard that Mr. McClay came by. GILES: Ah, indeed. XANDER: And? GILES: He will be the only blood relative attending. The rest of them will not attend. He will also be bearing a black eye. BUFFY: What happened? GILES: I explained to him about the funeral. I explained that we are to pay for it, he did not accept that. I told him it was not an option, but something that has been decided by Tara’s true family. At which point he forgot whom he was talking to and tried to run at me. Sadly I couldn’t move my fist along with the rest of my body out of the way and they made contact...he is fine now. Buffy and Xander snicker. The three look up at the stars. XANDER: Its beautiful isn’t it? BUFFY: That it is...guys...what has happened to us? GILES(jokingly): Well I’ve been bloody fine, its you all that has screwed up! BUFFY: Oh yeah? Run awayer! XANDER: Yeah Giles! GILES: Demon dater! XANDER: Hey! The three chuckle again and then look at eachother. GILES: I miss you all. XANDER: We miss you too Giles. Come back soon and visit. GILES: Oh I expect I will the next time there is an apocalypse... BUFFY: See ya next month? GILES: Certainly. Scene K Camera shoot to interior Summers home (living room). Anya and Dawn are watching tv. DAWN: Big day tomorrow. ANYA: Yes. I am not sure exactly how I am going to deal with it. DAWN: What do you mean? ANYA: When Joyce died, she was sick. Your mom was a good person Dawn. But with Tara it’s different... DAWN: How? ANYA: Someone, she died....murder. Tara was murdered. I mean, there is blood on her death. When I was a Vengeance demon back in the day, I murdered people all the time...in cold blood. I’ve never had to...face the consequences of a murder. DAWN: Anya, you are different now. Tomorrow when we go to the funeral, you can cry, you can be sorry, you can express however you feel because...its human emotion. ANYA: But I’m not a human! DAWN: Sure Anya...I know....back to being a Vengeance Demon...but, I don’t think its you anymore. ANYA: Whatever Dawn! I’m going to bed, goodnight. Anya exits as the gang walks in. Xander grabs Anya and takes her outside. Scene L Anya and Xander stand on the front Porch. XANDER: Ahn, are you gonna be alright? ANYA(monotone): I’ll be fine Xander. XANDER: Why don’t I believe that? ANYA: Its just...tomorrow, at the funeral...you’re going to have your friends, I’ll have no one, no one to cry on...if I cry, not saying I will, but I might. No one to hold me. XANDER: Lets make a deal... ANYA: What? XANDER: Tomorrow, we call a truce and I’ll be there for you... ANYA(momentarily caught in the moment): Really? You’d do that for me....I mean, fine! Tomorrow we call a truce and you can comfort me, or I’ll comfort you...or whatever! Tomorrow it is! Anya leaves Xander standing on the porch. XANDER(to himself): And to think...I gave that up. Xander wipes a tear from his eye and walks into the house. Fade to black. A deafening scream is heard. Scene M Camera flash to interior Summers home (Buffy’s room) Willow is convulsing on the bed. Giles is holding her arms down as Buffy holds her legs. Buffy is in a black dress, her hair is fixed nicely. BUFFY: When I gave up my room for the night, I thought I’d get it back in one piece! GILES: She’s having a withdraw....it’ll pass. BUFFY: It better and soon! Willow begins to slow her shaking down. WILLOW: Tara.... GILES: We are leaving for England today Willow, we cannot stay for the funeral, its too dangerous for everyone if you stay... Willow begins shaking more violently than before. She screams as the window in Buffy’s room shatters. WILLOW: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Giles injects Willow with another sedative. She begins to slowly calm down. Giles and Buffy exchange a look as Buffy exits the room. Scene N Buffy walks down stairs to reveal the rest of the gang all dressed in black, ready for the big day. The room is silent. The gang exits the house. The camera shows the door being shut. The room is full of silence until we hear.... WILLOW: Giles please!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to!!!!!!!!! GILES: No! We need to go... WILLOW: Hecate....you bastard! You stuck me again! Scene O Camera shoot to interior funeral home. Various young people are entering, college age students. Buffy and Xander are greeting people at the door. BUFFY: I don’t know if I can do this... XANDER: Be strong Buff, do it for Dawn, she needs you. BUFFY: I know... Mr. McClay enters the room. Xander and Buffy exchange looks as Mr. McClay approaches them. MR. MCCLAY: Well, well, well, last time we met you were fighting for her to stay, look what happened because she did. XANDER(coldly): Shut up... MR. MCCLAY: Where is her lover? Huh? I thought she would stop all of time and end the world if she could be with Tara... BUFFY: You don’t know how much truth was in that statement. Now go inside and shut up. MR. MCCLAY: I’ll do what I damn well please. BUFFY: I don’t think so sir. Mr. McClay gets in Buffy’s face. MR. MCCLAY: And what are you going to do about it? Xander grabs Mr. McClay by his collar and raises his fist ready to strike. A hand grabs Xanders. Its Buffy. Xander looks at her, she has tears in her eyes. BUFFY: not today Xander...don’t let him win. XANDER: You’re right. Xander lets Mr. McClay go and puts his hand down. Mr. McClay chuckles to himself and enters the room. Xander and Buffy give a long hug. XANDER: Its so hard... BUFFY: I know...we’ll get through it. Think of Dawn. XANDER: The advice comes full circle back to me... The two enter. Scene P NOTE: Soft, dramatic, sad, Christopher Beck music is being played in the background. Camera shoot to interior funeral home. We see people sitting in a room. The gang in the front, Mr. McClay on the other side of the room in the back. A priest is delivering a speech. Anya looks to Xander. ANYA(quietly): About that deal.... XANDER: Offers still on the table. Anya slowly lays her head on Xander’s chest. He slowly picks up his hand, unsure of what to do with it at first, then lightly strokes Anya’s hair as a tear falls from her face onto his suit. Zoom to Priest. PRIEST: At the request of Tara’s friends, Dawn Summers would like to say a few words about Tara. Shoot to Dawn sitting in char. Buffy turns to her. BUFFY: You sure you want to do this? Dawn slightly nods her head. Dawn walks to the podium. Her hair in her face. She tosses her hair back over her shoulder to reveal her face that is now tear stained and showing of great pain. She looks down for a few seconds and then looks back up at the crowd. DAWN: Last year, Buffy and I lost our mother. This...year (choking up)...I lost, my- I lost my - my best friend. Tara was, this amazingly powerful woman, but more importantly. She was an amazingly powerful friend. Tears start to flow down Dawns face. Camera shoot to reveal Buffy, Xander and Anya sitting in front row. Tears are flowing down Buffy's face as her sister speaks. Xander is stroking Anya’s hair as she leans on him. Shoot to small airplane taking off from airport. Shoot to interior plane. Giles is sitting next to a restrained willow who appears to be screaming. DAWN(VO): Tara showed the world how much a human being can accomplish. She showed us how a person can bring the best and the worst out in us. Shoot to a woman injecting Willow with a needle, a sedative. Willow is crying. DAWN(VO)CON'T: I loved Tara with all my heart. When I -...the times when I was, She was there for me when I felt no one else was. and she- Camera shoot back to Dawn, tears streaming down her face. DAWN: She loved the world, she protected it. Tara lived each day as if it were her last. (crying) So goodbye Tara. Dawn turns to the casket next to her. She wipes tears from her eyes. She gently kisses her hand and places it on the casket. DAWN: You may be gone, but you will never be forgotten. Shoot to crowd. They sit in silence. Buffy stands and walks over to Dawn. Buffy hugs Dawn as the two return to their seats. The Priest walks to the podium once again. PRIEST: We will now ask that you make your way to the cemetery at which point the Eulogy will be read. Shoot the to the crowd rising, sad music still playing in the back ground. Shoot to cemetery. Buffy, Xander, Dawn and Anya arrive first along with the Pallbearers. Xander helps to carry the casket to the final resting place of Tara. Buffy leaves the arriving crowd and walks to the casket while no one is around it. BUFFY: Hey Tara... Listen. I just want to say how sorry I am for everything that ever happened to you. I know that you loved us as much as we loved you. The things you did, the way you protected Dawn when Glory was after her. Its in my heart forever. I am sorry I couldn’t have been there to stop it, I’m sorry I couldn’t have been there to stop this. Buffy begins to cry. BUFFY: I’m sorry...Oh God Tara I’m sorry!! Buffy collapses on the ground crying. She puts her arms on the casket and her head on top of her arms crying. Dawn walks up behind her. DAWN: Buffy? BUFFY: Dawn, I uh - I’m sorry. I’m supposed to be strong...but I ... DAWN: You don’t need to be... BUFFY: Yes I do! The two are crying. DAWN: No you don’t! When Mom died I felt alone, don’t make me feel that way again. BUFFY: Dawny I’m so sorry! The two hug, Buffy crying. DAWN: Shh...its ok...its ok.... Camera elapse time to group standing around the casket as the priest delivers the last few lines of his speech. PRIEST: Xander Harris will be delivering the Eulogy. Mr. McClay begins to walk toward Xander. An arm swings out knocking him back into the crowd. It’s Anya. ANYA: Don’t. Xander walks up to the casket. He is holding a book. XANDER: I uh..found this book the other day while I was cleaning the room up where she was...I looked at her last entry. It was written a few um, hours or maybe minutes before it happened. In it Tara describes her out view and I think it’s a perfect way to say goodbye to Tara. It says: To think, that you never know...how short life is, how fragile it is... Camera zoom out over the crowd, various clips are shown of the group as the diary entry becomes a voice over read by Tara. We see Buffy and gang, clips of her father and clips of Willow. TARA(VO) CONTINUING FROM XANDER: How easy it is to take life, but to give life, a new life or a second chance at life. That is truly amazing. Words cant describe how I feel right now. The way things are, happy, finally. For I am in love, the most amazing feeling in the world. I’m still under her spell, a woman, madly in love. People come, People go, but these are the ones I love. Camera shoot to move slowly across the front row....we see Buffy and Dawn and Anya watching Xander deliver the Eulogy....tears streaming down their faces while the eulogy is continued to be read. TARA(VO)CONTINUED: Wether I’m protecting or being protected I know that the feelings are the same, that the love my friends and I share will never die. Though we will die, one of us will be the first to go, I know that it won’t matter because...because I love them. I guess the point I am trying to make is that, life needs to be lived one day at a time. The people in my life are so special, all of them. Live life to its fullest because you never know what day is to be your last. So living life, as it should be lived, makes all the difference in the world. If I die tomorrow, I will die a happy woman because for once, I know...that I am loved. Camera zoom out over entire crowd. A small green light (the same as the light from Bargaining) appears over the crowd and then enters the sky. Camera shoot to black. PRIEST (VO): Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust. Grrrrr Arrrrrgh.....
