Global Sources Partners With Ebay Forming Global Sources Direct To Provide More Opportunities For Customers - Update [GSOL]

6/16/2005 2:14:25 PM Thursday afternoon, Global Sources Ltd. (GSOL) announced that it has formed a strategic alliance with Ebay (EBAY) to offer a new service, Global Sources Direct.

The Singapore-based Global Sources is a business-to-business media company that facilitates global trade, with a particular focus on China market.

Global Sources said that the new service Global Sources Direct would provide more opportunity for eBay PowerSellers in China and around the world and more selling opportunities for Global Sources' supplier customers. The service is expected to be available later this year.

Under the strategic alliance, Global Sources will provide its clients with the opportunity to market their products directly to individuals and businesses in China through eBay EachNet, eBay's website in China.

Global Sources Direct will also be extending its services worldwide subsequently through eBay's Reseller Marketplace, which is an off-eBay B2B website to help eBay PowerSellers supply products for resale on the eBay marketplace, Global Service noted.

GSOL is currently up $2.52 trading at $9.76 on a volume of 1.34 million shares. The shares of EBAY are up $0.36 at $37.70 on a volume of 15.25 million shares.
