The Brits started it all in Palestine: blame them. Whoever wrote this seems to be unable to find any difference between the words "provoke" and "deserve." US (and for that matter, UN UK and NATO) policy might have PROVOKED and attack, but the United States in no way DESERVED to be attacked, just as NO INNOCENT Afghan, Palistinian, or other person DESREVES to die. I cannot believe that this person, whoever it may be, was able to post this message only two days after this tragedy. No matter what you think, there are some times when it is no only polite, but also respectful to keep your damn mouth shut. Everybody in the world has a problem with the US, and they decend into the streets to burn the American flag. But where were these people when women were being horribly mistreated in Afghanistan? Just as it is irrational to protest globalisation while wearing Nike shoes and drinking Coke, it is hipocritical to criticize ONLY American and never any other country. The Taliban WAS NOT wanted in Afghanistan, save by a few groups, and after their departure from Kabul, the citizens rejoiced. They are now allowed to shave, walk unmolested through the streets, play football, watch TV, and be educated like the REST OF THE WORLD. Just because you disagree with US foreign policy does not mean you can sit back and watch Afghanistan slip into a new dark ages where only religiuos figures can read and write, and therefore dictate what "God" wants people to do; where people live in fear of war, pestilance, famine, disease; where more children die than live. The US is not perfect, nor is its foreign policy, but do not be so quick to judge. It is NOT a dictatorship (no matter what you may think, the President of the US does NOT have as much power as people say. He can only send troops out for 90 days, and after that it is the SENATE who declares war. There are 100 Senators--two from each state--and if you ask me, that's a fairly well spread out base of power. Perhaps you should read more about the US gov) and most Americans do NOT spend their time trying to "dominate" the rest of the world, contrary to how Americans are portrayed in Europe.
It is too easy to criticize the US, because the US's actions are always on the front page of the newspaper, but let's take a good look at the rest of the world before judging the US so harshly.
