Romeo and Juliet is possibly the most well-known play known to man. If you don't know what it is, you've been living in a hole somewhere. This is a modern-day Romeo and Juliet, but unlike West Side Story, it does not involve dance-offs and intimidating snapping.

The Mafia; two feuding families -- The Castilluccios and the Marianis, who dwell in Vanore, NY, 2006. It isn't really clear why they despise each other so much, but they don't mind beating each other senseless just to prove a point. Their kids have been raised to hate these people, and filled with such contempt, they frequently get into fights at school just because they know that they're supposed to. Obligation and reputation are what matter to these families, so pay heed to both.

Two people have bonded over all of this madness: Julienna Castilluccio and Roberto "Rob" Mariani. In secrecy, they date, despite their friends' objections and reprimands. They believe that they're in love. Are they? Will they be killed for their romance?
